Bu çalışmada erkek Wistar-Albino cinsi erişkin sıçanların 4 hafta süren çeşitli diyetler sonucu hipokampus yağ asidi kompozisyonları, NMDA reseptör NR2A ve NR2B altbirimleri ve hipokampus lipit peroksidasyonu ürünü düzeyleri üzerine olan etkisi araştırıldı. Sonuç olarak çeşitli yağ diyetlerinin 4 hafta sonunda sıçan hipokampusunda DYA, TDYA ve ÇDYA oranlarını değiştirdiği saptandı, NR2A seviyelerinin ayçiçek diyetiyle anlamlı derecede azaldığı ve NR2B ekspresyonunun da balık yağı diyetinden olumlu bir şekilde etkilenmiş olduğu gözlendi. Özellikle yağ asidi kompozisyonu ve antioksidan kapasite açısından diyetlerin hipokampusa etkileri sonucu MDA düzeyleri değişim gösterdi. Bu diyetlerin daha uzun süre kullanımının özellikle hipokampusta hem NMDA reseptör regülasyonu hem de lipid peroksid düzeyleri üzerinde koruyucu etkisi olabileceği düşünülebilir. Yağ asidi kompozisyon değişikliğini daha net izleyebilmek için uzun süreli ve kapsamlı metodlarla çalışmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. In this study, the effects of sunflower oil, olive oil, fish oil, butter and margarine diets on rat fatty acid composition, expression of NR2A and NR2B subunits of NMDA receptors, and a lipid peroxidation product of rat hippocampus were investigated. It was concluded that different fat diets altered the saturated, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acid compositions of the rat hippocampus after 4 weeks of treatment. Secondly, it was determined that expression levels of NR2A decreased significantly with the sunflower oil diet, and that fish oil affected the expression of NR2B in a positive manner. MDA levels changed especially according to the fatty acid composition and antioxidant capacity of some diets. It can be assumed that usage of these diets could have some protective effects on the NMDA receptor regulation and lipid peroxide levels especially in hippocampus. Longer period studies with more detailed methods are needed to determine thoroughly the change in the fatty acid composition.
