Çocuklarda yetersiz ve dengesiz beslenme (malnutrisyon) belirlenmesinde ve büyümenin izlenmesinde antropometrik ölçümler kullanılarak çeşitli hastalıklar erken dönemde tanımlanması ve önlenmesi mümkündür. Bu çalışmada, Isparta ilinin 0-1 yaş arası çocuklarının büyüme eğrilerini oluşturarak katkı sağlaması, elde edilen verilerin Türkiye için daha önce oluşturulmuş eğrilerle ve dünyadaki referanslarla karşılaştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu bebeklerin ailelerinin, sosyoekonomik durumu, yaşadıkları ortam, gelir düzeyleri, eğitim durumları gibi farklılıklar gözetilmeden Isparta il merkezindeki 2900 bebeklere ulaşılmaya çalışıldı. Araştırmada 1328'i (% 49,5) kız, 1355'i (% 50,5) erkek olmak üzere 2683 bebeğe ulaşıldı. Çocukların vücut ağırlıkları ve boy uzunlukları bu merkezlerde görevli ebe ve hemşireler tarafından tekniğine uygun olarak ölçüldü. Çocukların doğum ağırlıkları, boyları, beslenme özellikleri ve ailelerine ilişkin bilgiler ise, annelere sorularak toplandı. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 11.0 programı kullanılmıştır. Bebeklerin cinsiyetlerine göre doğum, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 ay ağırlık, boy ve baş çevreleri karşılaştırıldığında, erkek bebeklerin değerlerinin kız bebeklerinkinden fazla olduğu görüldü. Bebeklerden elde edilen ölçümlere göre 3.,10.,25.,50.,75.,90.,97. Persentil değerleri hesaplandı. Ağırlıkların 50. persantil değerlerinin, erkek bebeklerde 12.ay dışındaki aylarda DSÖ (2007) ve Neyzi (1978) değerlerine göre daha düşük, Neyzi (2008) değerlerinden ise yüksek olduğu gözlendi. Kızlarda ise 12. ay dışındaki değerlerin benzer çalışmalardan yüksek olduğu görüldü. Boy uzunluğu persantil değerleri ise diğer çalışmalara benzer olduğu gözlendi. Bulunan referans değerlerin, bu bölgedeki çocukların büyüme, gelişme ve beslenmelerinin değerlendirilmesinde temel bir veri niteliğini taşıyacağını düşünüyoruz. Various diseases can be prevented in the early period by using anthropometric measures to determine undernourishment and malnutrition and to follow growth in children. The aim of this study is to compare the growth curves which were obtained for 1-12 months children in Isparta with the previous growth curves in Turkey and with the other world references. Midwives and nurses working in these centers properly measured heights and body weights of children. Information about weights and heights of the children at birth, and information about nutritional habits and family were obtained by interrogating the mother. Datas were evaluated by SPSS 11.0 statistical programme. This study was conducted on 2683 babies. 1328 of them (49,5%) were female, and 1355 of them (50,5%) were male. The height and the weight figures of each child were noted and Z values were calculated with reference to NCHS-CDC standards. Children whose Z scores of height for age; weight for height and weight to age are lower than -2 standard deviation were assessed as stunted, wasted and under-weighted; respectively. As we compared the weights, heights and head circumflexes of the babies on 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12. months; it was found that all values were greater in males then females. Related with the results obtained from babies; 3,10,25,50,75,90,97. percentil values, were calculated. According to 50. percentil values; for male babies in all months (except 12. month) it was found to be decreased according to WHO (2007) and Neyzi (1978). Besides, it was higher then the Neyzi's 2008 values. For female babies; for all months (except 12.) it was found to be higher then the related studies. Percentil values for height was found to be the same with resembling studies. We suggest that; results of this study can be used as a reference on the evaluation of the growth, development and feeding of children who lives in this area.
