Çalışmamızda, maternal obezitenin prenatal ve postnatal dönemde iskelet sistemi gelişimi üzerine olan etkilerinin araştırılması amaçlandı. Çalışmamıza deney (n=10) ve kontrol (n=7) olmak üzere dişi wistar albino ratlar gruplara ayrılarak başlandı. 15 hafta süresince deney grubu yüksek yağ diyeti (yağ oranı % 40), kontrol grubu da normal rat yemi (yağ oranı % 20) ile beslendi. 15 hafta sonunda obez olan ratlar ve kontrol grubu olan ratlar çiftleştirildi. Hamilelik boyunca annenin kilo takibi yapıldı. Hamileliğin sonunda, deney ve kontrol grubundan elde edilen yavrularda total gövde, kranium, toraks ve ekstremite ile ilgili morfometrik büyüme parametreleri yeni doğan, laktasyon ve erişkin dönemleri boyunca (yeni doğan ile 12. haftalar arasında) ölçüldü. Deney grubunda 5 hamile ratın 2 tanesinin yavruları 24 saat içinde öldü. Geriye kalan 3 hamile rattan 29 adet yavru (17 E, 12 D), kontrol grubundaki 7 hamile rattan ise 57 adet yavru (36 E, 21 D)) elde edildi. Deney ve kontrol grubu parametrelerinin karşılaştırılmasında, her dönemde ve tüm parametrelerde deney grubunda daha büyük olmak üzere kontrol grubu ile aralarında anlamlı fark vardı. Aynı zamanda grup içerisi cinsiyet karşılaştırılmasında da anlamlı farklar vardı. Obez anneden doğan yavruların; yenidoğan, laktasyon ve erişkin dönemlerinde kontrol grubu yavrularına nisbeten ağırlık ve genel parametre ölçümlerindeki değerlerinin daha yüksek olduğu gözlemlendi. Bu sonuca göre maternal obezitenin prenatal ve postnatal dönemde iskelet sistemi gelişimini etkili olduğu belirlendi. In this study, our aim was to research the effects of maternal obesity on prenatal and postnatal periods of development. Seventeen female wistar albino rats were fed control diet (lipid ratio 20%) or high fat diet (lipid ratio 40%) for a period of 15 weeks. The naso- anal length was measured to calculate body mass index. The weights of animals high fat diet group and control group were measured during the gestational period. Besides, the lenghts of gestation and the numbers of pups of pregnant animals were measured. After birth, the morphometrical growth parameters (weight of pup, head circumference, biparietal diameter, head length, face height, biorbital diameter, thorax circumference, thorax width, crown-rump length, naso-anal distance, forearm length, leg lenght, biacetabular distance, ano-genital distance) of the pups of high fat diet and control groups were measured (birth- 12. weeks) Five of them offspring of pregnant rats in the experimental group 2 died within 24 hours. Fry the remaining 3 of 29 pregnant rats (17 M, 12 D) in the control group, 7 of the 57 pregnant rats each pup (36 M, 21 D)) was obtained. Parameters of experiment and countrol group were compared. All of parameters of each period were significant higher in experiment group when compared with the countrol group. In addition in each group there were significant differences between sex. The mean values of weight and morphometrical parameters of the obese mothers offsprings was relatively higher than offsprings of control in newborn, lactation, adult periods. In conclusion, maternal obesity has morphometric effects on prenatal and postnatal period development. Keywords : Maternal obesity, prenatal development, postnatal development, skeletal system.
