Ankaferd Blood Stopperʼ (ABS) özellikle diş hekimliği alanında kullanılmak üzere üretilmiş etkin bir kanama durdurucu maddedir. Çalışmamızda beş bitki özütünden oluşan Ankaferd Blood Stopperʼ.in kemik yüzeylerine etkisinin ve klinik uygulamalar için güvenilirliğinin deneysel olarak incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmaya toplam 30 rat dh́il edilmiştir. Ratların her 2 femuru kullanılarak deney ve kontrol grupları aynı hayvan üzerinde oluşturulmuştur. Kemik defektleri 3 mm.lik trefin frezlerle hazırlanarak sağ femur defekt bölgesi deney grubunu, sol femur defekt bölgesi ise kontrol grubunu oluşturmuştur. Deney grubuna 0,5 ml ABS uygulanmış, kontrol grubuna herhangi bir madde uygulanmamıştır. Bir rat anestezi komplikasyonu nedeniyle çalışmadan çıkartılmıştır. Çalışma grupları 7., 28. ve 42. Günlerde sakrifiye edilerek 6 çalışma grubu içerisinde 58 örnek elde edilmistir. Örneklerin histomorfometrik analizlerinde trabeküler kemik yüzey alanı, medullar kemik çapı, osteoblast yüzey alanı, osteoid kemik yüzey alanı ve mineralize kemik yüzey alanları incelenmiştir. Yeni kemik oluşumunun histolojik değerlendirmesi yapılarak, yeni kemik oluuşm skorlaması yapılmıştır. Çalışmamız sonucunda Ankaferd Blood Stopper kemik kavitelerinde uygulanmasının 7. gün deney grubunda kemik iyileşmesini hızlandırıcı etkileri üzerine daha net bulgulara ulaşılmış ve 7. gün sonuçlarına göre yeni kemik yapımını deney grubunda fazla olarak bulunmuştur. Ankaferd Blood Stopper kemik kavitelerinde uygulanmasının 28. ve 42. Gün deney ve kontrol gruplarında benzer sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Klinik gözlemlerde intraoperatif ve postoperatif dönemde cilt ve diğer dokularda alerjik ve iltihabi reaksiyonlar gözlenmemiştir. Ayrıca histomorfometrik çalışmalarda nekrotik alanlara ve enfeksiyoz reaksiyonlara rastlanmamıştır. Bu sonuçlar neticesinde Ankaferd Blood Stopper'in erken dönem kemik iyileşmesini hızlandırdığı ve klinik kullanımlar için güvenli olduğu sonucuna ulasılmıştır. Ankaferd Blood Stopper ʼ (ABS), manufactured to be used in dentistry is an effective hemostatic agent. In this study, it is aimed to experimentally investigate the efficiency of Ankaferd Blood Stopper which is derived from five different plant extracts and its reability on bone surfaces. Total 30 rats were included to the study. Using two femurs of each rat in this study, experimental and control groups were formed on the same animal. Bone defects were formed by 3 mm trephine drills and while the right femoral defect forms experimental group, the left femoral defect forms the control groups. 0.5 ml Ankaferd Blood Stopper was applied to the experimental group but there was no application to the control group. During the study, one rat was excluded from the study owing to an anaesthesia complication. Working groups were sacrified on the seventh, twenty eighth and forthy second days. Within six working groups, 58 samples were obtained. Trabecular bone surface area, medullary bone diameter, osteoblastsurface area, osteoid bone surface area and mineralized bone surface area were examined in the Histomorphometric analysis of samples. Realizing the histological evaluation of new bone forming, new bone formation was scored. As a result of the study, it was found that ABS applied in bone cavities had more accelerator effect on bone healing in the seventh day experimental group. According to the results of seventh day, new bone formation was found much more in the experimental group. ABS applied in bone cavities had nearly the same effect on bone healing in the 28th and 42nd day of the experimental and control groups.In clinical observations, no allergic and inflammatory reactions were observed on skin and other allergical tissues in the period of intraoperative and postopertaive. Moreover in the study of histomorphometric, necrotic areas and infection reactions were not observed. As a result, it was determined that Ankaferd Blood Stopper is realible for routine use and has an accelerator effect on short term bone healing.
