Bu çalışmada, eğitilebilir düzeyde zihinsel engelli öğrencilerde yapılan beden eğitimi ve spor derslerinin eğitilebilir düzeydeki zihinsel engelli öğrencilerin biyomotorik özellikleri üzerine etkisinin incelenmesi amaçlandı.Çalışmamız zeka seviyeleri (IQ) 55–65 arasında, 10–12 yaş grubundan oluşan 40 öğrenciyi kapsamaktadır. Gönüllü öğrenciler beden eğitimi dersi alan ve almayan olarak iki grupta ele alındı. Çalışmaya katılan 40 öğrenciden 20 tanesi deney grubu ve 20 tanesi kontrol grubu olarak oluşturuldu. Çalışmaya katılan gönüllü öğrencilere şınav çekme, mekik çekme, 50 metre kısa mesafe koşu testi, koordinasyon testi, durarak uzun atlama testi, otur uzan testi, dikey sıçrama testi, denge aletinden geçme testi, sol ve sağ el kavrama kuvvet testi olmak üzere dokuz test uygulandı. Deney grubuna 8 haftalık çalışma programı uygulanırken, kontrol grubuna herhangi bir çalışma programı uygulanmadı. Çalışmanın başında ve sonunda her iki gruba da ilk test ve son test uygulandı.Çalışmada elde edilen veriler SPSS 16,0 istatistik programında değerlendirmeye alındı. Grup içi (paired t test) ve Gruplar arası (independent t test) karşılaştırma yapıldı. P < 0.05 düzeyinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı kabul edildi.Veriler aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma (SS) olarak belirtildi.Beden eğitimi ve spor dersi alan öğrencilerin şınav çekme, mekik çekme, 50 metre kısa mesafe koşu, koordinasyon, durarak uzun atlama, otur uzan, dikey sıçrama, denge aletinden geçme, sol ve sağ el kavrama kuvvet testlerinin ilk ve son testleri arasında istatistiksel açıdan p<0,01 düzeyinde olumlu anlamlı fark bulunurken, beden eğitimi ve spor dersi almayan öğrencilerin şınav çekme, mekik çekme, 50 metre kısa mesafe koşu, koordinasyon, durarak uzun atlama, otur uzan, dikey sıçrama sıçrama, denge aletinden geçme, sol ve sağ el kavrama kuvvet testlerinin ilk ve son testleri arasında istatistiksel açıdan p<0,01 düzeyinde olumsuz anlamlı fark bulundu.Beden Eğitimi ve Spor dersi alan ve almayan eğitilebilir zihinsel engelli öğrencilerin şınav çekme, mekik, koordinasyon, durarak uzun atlama, otur-uzan, denge aletinden yürüme ve sol ve sağ el kavrama kuvvet testlerinin ilk test ölçümleri karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulunamadı. Beden eğitimi ve spor dersi alan ve almayan eğitilebilir zihinsel engelli öğrencilerin 50 m. kısa mesafe koşma testinin ilk test ölçümleri karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark bulundu (P<0.05). Beden eğitimi ve spor dersi alan ve almayan eğitilebilir zihinsel engelli öğrencilerin dikey sıçrama testinin ilk test ölçümleri karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark gözlendi (P<0.05).Elde ettiğimiz verilere dayanarak eğitilebilir zihinsel engelliler için uygulanan beden eğitimi ve spor derslerinin biyomotorik özellikleri üzerine etkisinde anlamlı düzeyde gelişmeler sağlandığı görülmüştür. In our study, we aimed to investigate the effects of physical training and sports lectures on biometric properties of educable mentally retarded students.Our study in clouded forty students with an IQ level range of 55-65 and age range of 10-12 years. Volunteer students were enrolled into two groups as those who take physical training lectures and those did not take physical training lectures.Twenty of those 40 students that were in clouded in this study were enrolled into the experiment group and the other 20 students were enrolled into the control group. Nine tests including push-ups test, sit-ups pull test, 50 meters short distance running test, coordination test, standing long jump test, sit and reach test, vertical jump test, passing through balance beam test, hand grip strength test were applied to all volunteer students that were included in the study. Eight-weeklong training program was instructed to the experiment group. Control group did not receive any training program. In the beginning and at the end of the study a baseline and a final test were applied.Data were evaluated using SPSS 16.0 statistic al software. Intra-group (paired t-test) and between groups (independent t-test) statistic al procedures were performed. The data obtained through measurement is indicated as an arithmetic mean and standard deviation and the significance level in the evaluations was determined as p<0.05.There were a statistic ally signify cant positive difference (p<0,01) between baseline and final push-ups tests, sit-ups pull tests, 50 meters short distance running tests, coordination tests, standing long jump tests, sit and reach tests, vertical jump tests, passing through balance beam tests, hand grip strength tests in educable mentally retarded students who took physical training and sports lectures. On the other hand, there were a statistic ally signify cant negative difference (p<0,01) between baseline and final push-ups tests, sit-ups pull tests, 50 meters short distance running tests, coordination tests, standing long jump tests, sit and reach tests, vertical jump tests, passing through balance beam tests, hand grip strength tests in educable mentally retarded students who did not take physical training and sports lectures.There were not a statistic ally signify cant difference between students who took physical training and sports lectures and tests in students who did not take physical training and sports lectures in the baseline push-ups tests, sit-ups pull tests, coordination tests, standing long jump tests, sit and reach tests, passing through balance beam tests and hand grip strength tests. There was a statistic ally significant difference between educable mentally retarded students who took physical training and sports lectures and tests between educable mentally retarded students who did not take physical training and sports lectures in the baseline 50 meters short distance running tests (P<0.05).It was observed a statistic ally significant (p<0.05) between educable mentally retarded students who to ok physical training and sports lecture sand educable mentally retarded students who did not take physical training and sports lectures in the baseline vertical jump tests.Based on the obtained data, it had been observed that physical training and sport lectures had provided significant improvements in the biometric properties of educable mentally retarded students.
