Amaç: Çalışmamızın amacı; diş hekimliği uygulamalarında önemli bir faktör olan ince motor beceri ve dikkat kavramının diş hekimliği öğrencilerinde değerlendirilerek aralarındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya diş hekimliği fakültesinden 154, fizyoterapi bölümünden ise 130 öğrenci dahil edildi. İnce motor beceri O'Conner Tweezer,Purdue Pegboard ve Grooved Pegboard Testleri‘yle değerlendirilirken dikkat ise Sayı Dizisi Testleri ve Stroop Testleri‘yle değerlendirildi. Dominant ekstremiteyi belirlemek içinse Edinburg Handedness Inventory kullanıldı.Bulgular: Diş hekimliği öğrencileri arasında yapılan Sayı Dizisi testlerinde, O'Conner Cımbız Beceri testinde, Stroop 1 süre testinde, Grooved Pegboard sol çıkarma testinde, Purdue Pegboard 3 ve Purdue Pegboard 4 testlerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklar bulundu. Bu anlamlılıklar çoğunlukla 5. sınıf diş hekimlerinin iyi performansları ile ilişkiliydi. Fizyoterapi öğrencileri arasında yapılan Grooved Pegboard sağ çıkarma ve tüm Purdue Pegboard testlerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklar bulundu. Bu anlamlılıklar 4. sınıf fizyoterapi öğrencilerinin iyi performanslarıyla ilişkiliydi. Bölümleri sınıf sınıf karşılaştırdığımızda 1. sınıflar arasında sadece Purdue Pegboard 5 skorları istatistiksel olarak farklıydı. İkinci sınıflarda sayı dizisi testleri, Stroop 2 süre testi, Grooved Pegboard sol takma skorları istatistiksel olarak farklıydı. Üçüncü sınıflarda Purdue Pegboard 3 ve Purdue Pegboard 5 skorları istatistiksel olarak farklıydı. Sayı dizisi testleri, Stroop 5 süre skoru, O'Conner Tweezer Beceri testi, Purdue Pegboard 1, Purdue Pegboard 2, Purdue Pegboard 3 and Purdue Pegboard 4 skorları istatistiksel olarak farklıydı. İnce motor beceri ve dikkati korele ettiğimizde ise sayı dizisi testleri ile Purdue Pegboard 5 (asembly) skorları arasında istatistiksel ilişki bulunmuştur. Buna ek olarak Stroop skorları ile bazı Grooved Pegboard skorları arasında istatistiksel ilişki vardır.Sonuç: Diş hekimliği öğrencilerinin dikkat ve ince motor beceri parametreleri eğitim yılı arttıkça gelişmektedir. Purpose: The aim of this study is: Assesing and corelating of the two important factor of the dentistry practise in dental students.Material and Methods: There were 154 students from dentistry faculty and 130 students from physical therapy admitted to the study. For assesing fine motor dexterity: O'Conner Tweezer, Purdue Pegboard and Grooved Pegboard Test are used; and attention assessed with Digit Span Test and Stroop Tests. The dominancy determined with Edinburg Handedness Inventory.Results: Between dental students there were statistically significant differences found in Serial Digit Span Tests, O'Conner Tweezer Dexterity Test, Stroop 1 Time Test, Grooved Pegboard left extraction, Purdue Pegboard 3 and Purdue Pegboard 4 scores. The significance was mostly related with class 5s' good performances.Between physiotherapy students there were statistically significant differences found in Grooved Pegboard right extraction and both Purdue Pegboard scores. The significance was related with class 4s' good performances. In comparing diffirent faculties (dentistry and physiotherapy) classes to class in first class only Purdue Pegboard 5 scores was statistically significant different. In second classes digit span scores, Stroop 2 time score and Grooved Pegboard left attach scores were statistically significant different. In third classes Purdue Pegboard 2 and Purdue Pegboard 5 scores were statistically significant different. Digit span tests, Stroop 5 time score, O'Conner Tweezer Dexterity test, Purdue Pegboard 1, Purdue Pegboard 2, Purdue Pegboard 3 and Purdue Pegboard 4 scores were statistically significant different.When corelating fine motor dexterity and attention there was a statistically relation between digit span tests and Purdue Pegboard 5 (assembly) scores. In addition to this there was statistically relation between Stroop scores and some of the Grooved Pegboard scores.Conclusion: The attention and fine motor skill parameters developed in dentistry students year to year.
