Amaç: Çalışmamızda elektif jinekolojik cerrahi planlanan hasta grubunda istenilen rutin preoperatif tetkiklerin yararlarını ve perioperatif komplikasyonları belirlemedeki prediktif değerlerini belirlemeyi amaçladık.Yöntem: Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Etik Kurul onayı alındıktan sonra 2012 yılında elektif olarak jinekolojik cerrahiye alınan 1327 hasta retrospektif olarak incelendi. Preoperatif test istemleri ve sonuçları belirlendi.Olguların akciğer radyografisi, EKG’si, tam kan sayımı, kanama profili, sodyum, potasyum, aspartat transaminaz, alanin transaminaz, BUN ve kreatinin sonuçları anamnez ve fizik muayene ile birlikte değerlendirildi. ASA skorları kaydedildi.Komplikasyon gelişen hastalar belirlendi. Anormal test sonuçları perioperatif komplikasyona neden olma bakımından analiz edildi.Bulgular: Çalışmada BUN ve aPTT değerleri, akciğer patolojisinin olması, ek hastalıkların mevcudiyeti ve ASA skorlaması operasyon sonrası komplikasyon gelişimi ile ilişkili bulundu (p<0,05).Tartışma: Preoperatif rutin testler, elektif jinekolojik operasyon planlanan hastalarda yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Yapılan bu testlerin çoğunda normal sonuçlar elde edilmekte ve bunlar anestezi yönetimini etkilememektedir. Preoperatif testler rutin olarak değil, hastaların öykü ve fizik muayene bulgularına göre
yapılmalıdır.Sonuç: Preoperatif olarak istenen rutin tetkikler meydana gelen komplikasyonları öngörmede yetersiz kalmıştır.

Purpose: In this study we aimed to determine the benefits and predictive values of routine preoperative investigations in patients undergoing elective gynecological surgery in terms of perioperative complications.Method: After approval of the ethical committee of Süleyman Demirel University, the charts of 1327 patients who underwent elective gynecological surgery at SDU in 2012 were analysed retrospectively. The ordered preoperative investigations and their results were collected. The chest radiography, ECG, complete blood counts, platelets, coagulation parameters, sodium, potassium, AST, ALT, BUN and creatinine values were evaluated with history and physical examination of the patients. ASA scores were recorded. The complicated patients were identified. Abnormal test results were analysed for evidence of a complication.Results: In the study, the high levels of BUN and aPTT values, the presence of lung pathology on chest radiology, and comorbid diseases, high grade of ASA score were associated with postoperative complications (p<0,05).Conclusion: Routine preoperative tests are widely used for patients undergoing elective gynecological operations. The results of most tests are normal and do not influence anesthetic management. Preoperative tests could be ordered according to history and physical examination of the patients but not in a routine manner. The routinely ordered preoperative tests were ineffective to predict postoperative complications in our study.
