Günümüzde oral ve maksillofasiyal cerrahide kemik grefti kullanımı gün geçtikçe yaygınlaşmaktadır. Birçok ameliyat sonrasında hasta rehabilitasyonu için kemik grefti kullanılması gerekmektedir. Oral ve maksillofasiyal cerrahide greft kullanımı sonrasında kemik maturasyonu geç gerçekleşir. Hastaların rehabilitasyon süresi uzar, hastaların bu süreyi geçirmesi zordur. Bu zor ve uzun sürenin kısaltılması amacı ile lazer ve led kaynakları ile biostimülasyon gerçekleştirilerek maturasyon süresinin kısaltılması amaçlanmıştır. Diş hekimliğinde ve tıpta kemik iyileşmesi çok önemli bir yer tutar. Bu iyileşme süreci ne kadar uzarsa hastanın tedavisi ve rehabilitasyonu da o kadar zor gerçekleşmektedir. Uygulanan LED fototerapi ile kemik iyileşmesi hızlandırılabilecektir. Bununla birlikte yeni oluşan kemiğin kalitesi de artacaktır. Bu çalışma 24 tane wistar albino rat üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ratlar 2 gruba ayrılmıştır. Ratların sağ ve sol femurlarına 3 mm'lik birer tane defekt açılmıştır. Ratların sağ femurlarına otojen greftler, sol femurlarına sığır kaynaklı kemik grefti olan Bio-Oss® (Geistlich, İsviçre) yerleştirilmiştir. Çalışma grubunda kontrol grubundan farklı olarak yara bölgesine 14 gün boyunca 10 dk süresince LED fototerapi (Osseopulse, Biolux Research Ltd.,Vancouver, Canada) uygulanmıştır. Histolojik incelemeler sonucunda LED fototerapi grubunda osteoblast sayısının ve yeni oluşan kemik alanının anlamlı olarak daha yüksek bulunduğu gözlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak LED fototerapinin kemik iyileşmesini hızlandırdığı ve klinik uygulamalarda kullanılabileceği düşünülebilir. Anahtar Kelimeler : Kemik iyileşmesi, LED fototerapi, Kemik greftti.
Currently bone grafting procedures are increasingly used in oral and maxillofacial surgery. After many surgical procedures bone grafting is neccesary. In oral and maxillofacial surgery, after grafting procedures, bone maturation is a slow process. Patients‟ rehabilitation period which is difficult for patients, is prolonged. To decrease this hard and long time, laser and led sources are used for biostimulation to accelerate bone maturation time. In dentistry and medicine, bone healing has a very important role. If this healing period is delayed, treatment and rehabilitation of patients becomes more difficult. Use of LED phototherapy accelerates bone healing. Results indicate that LED light causes quicker repair process and improves the quality of newly formed bone. In this study, we use 24 wistar albino rats for experiment. Rats divided into two groups. 3mm defects done to each femur bones. Autologous bone grafts applied to right femors and bovine derived allogen bone grafts (Bio-Oss) applied to left femor bones. In the experiment group, LED phototherapy (Biolux Research Ltd.,Vancouver, Canada) applied to wound for 10 minutes a day for 14 days. In this study, effects of LED phototherapy on bone healing evaluated. Therefore possible contributions to clinical use more clearly demonstrated. There is no exact protocol to define use of LED phototherapy. We used LED phototherapy for 10 minutes a day for 14 days to bone defects and evaluated the effects of LED phototherapy to bone healing process.
