Bu çalışmanın amacı, çekimli ve çekimsiz ortodontik tedavilerin, tedaviyle ve uzun dönem takip sonrasında, dentoalveolar yapılar üzerine etkilerini, üç boyutlu dijital modeller üzerinde incelemektir.Bu çalışmada, bireyler çekimsiz ve 4 adet 1. premolar çekimli olmak üzere 2 ana gruba ayrılmıştır. Çekimsiz grup, 49 bireyden (ortalama yaş 13.19±2.70), çekimli grup ise 51 bireyden (ortalama yaş 14.77±2.71) oluşmaktadır. Tedavi ile ve uzun dönem takip sonrasında dentoalveolar yapılarda oluşan değişiklikleri değerlendirmek amacıyla tedavi öncesi (T1), tedavi sonrası (T2), uzun dönem takip sonrası (T3) dönemlerine ait üç boyutlu ağız içi modelleri alınmıştır.Araştırmamızın sonuçlarına göre, çekimli ve çekimsiz gruplar arasında, mandibular ark uzunluğu, maksiller ve mandibular anterior ark derinlikleri, maksiller interkanin genişlik, maksiller ve mandibular intermolar genişlikler, overjet ve maksiller ve mandibular keser uyumsuzlukları ölçümlerinin uzun dönem takip sırasında gösterdiği değişim benzerdir. Uzun dönem takip sırasında maksiller ark uzunluğu, maksiller ve mandibular total ark derinlikleri çekimsiz grupta daha çok azalma göstermiştir. Mandibular interkanin genişlik ölçümü ise çekimli grupta daha çok azalmıştır. Overbite uzun dönem takip sonrasında çekimli grupta artarken, çekimsiz grupta azalma göstermiştir. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of orthodontic treatments with and without tooth extraction on the dentoalveolar structures on three-dimensional digital models with the treatment and after a long-term follow-up. In this study, individuals were divided into two main groups as those without tooth extraction and four with 1st premolar tooth extraction. The group without tooth extraction was composed of 49 individuals (mean age 13.19±2.70) while the group with tooth extraction was composed of 51 individuals (mean age14.77±2.71). To evaluate the changes occurring in dentoalveolar structures with the treatment and after the long-term follow-up, three-dimensional intra-oral models belonging to pre-treatment (T1), post-treatment (T2), post long-term follow-up (T3) periods were taken.According to our study results, the changes in the measurements including mandibular arch length, maxillary, and mandibular anterior arch depth, maxillary intercanine width, maxillary and mandibular intermolarwidth, overjet and maxillary and mandibular incisor disproportion were similar between the groups with and without tooth extraction during the long-term follow-up period.Maxillary arch length, maxillary, and mandibular total arch width showed more decrease in the group without tooth extraction during the long-term follow-up period.Mandibular intercanine width measurement, however, showed more decrease in the group with tooth extraction. While overbite increased in the group with tooth extraction, it decreased in the group without tooth extraction after the long-term follow-up.
