Batı Akdeniz Bölgesi iğne yapraklı ormanlarında yayılışı bulunan kabuk böceği türlerini, bunların konukçularını ve önemli olanlarının biyolojilerini belirlemek amacıyla ele alınan bu çalışma 2004-2008 yıllarında yürütülmüştür. Bölge ormanlarında zararın yoğun olarak görüldüğü 12 ayrı yörede deneme sahaları alınmıştır. Çalışmalar bir taraftan bu sahalarda periyodik olarak devam ettirilirken diğer taraftan tüm bölge genelinde kabuk böceği türleri ve doğal düşmanlarını belirlemek amacıyla tarama çalışmaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaçla deneme sahalarında tuzak ağaçları hazırlanmıştır. Bölge genelinde tarama yapılan diğer sahalarda ise gerek orman içi depolarda bulunan gerekse üretim yapılan sahalarda beklemekte olan emvaller üzerinde gözlemler yapılmıştır. Önemli kabuk böceği türlerinin ergin uçuş dönemlerinin ve populasyon yoğunluklarının belirlenmesi amacıyla feromon tuzakları kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda 2 alt familyaya ait 27 adet Scolytidae türü tespit edilmiştir. Bu türler; Hylesininae alt familyasından Hylastes angustatus (Herbst), H. attenuatus Erichson, H. linearis Erichson, Tomicus destruens (Wollaston), T. minor (Hartig), Hylurgus ligniperda (Fabricius), H. micklitzi Wachtl, Carphoborus henscheli Reitter, Phloesinus acatayi Schedl, P. aubei (Perris), Ipinae alt familyasından ise Crypturgus mediterraneus Eichhoff, C. numidicus Ferrari, C. pusillus (Gyllenhal), Cryphalus piceae (Ratzeburg), Pityogenes bistridentatus (Eichhoff), P. calcaratus (Eichhoff), P. pennidens Reitter, Pityokteines curvidens (Germar), Orthotomicus erosus (Wollaston), O. longicollis (Gyllenhal), O. pinivora Schedl, O. robustus (Knotek), O. suturalis (Gyllenhal), O. tridentatus Eggers, Ips mannsfeldi (Wachtl), I. sexdentatus (Boerner) ve Xyleborus eurygraphus (Ratzeburg)'dur. Bu türlerden O. robustus Türkiye kabuk böcekleri faunasına bu çalışmayla dahil edilmiştir. Kabuk böceği türlerinin avcısı olarak ise 3 takımdan, 10 familyaya ait 19 tür tespit edilmiştir. Bu türlerden Plegaderus vulneratus (Panzer), Nemosama pliginskyi Reitter ve N. cornutum Sturm ülkemiz için yeni kayıt niteliğindedir. This study was conducted to determine bark beetle species which spreads in West Mediterranean Region's coniferous forests, their hosts and biology of important of them between 2004 and 2008. Study areas were determined in 12 different stands where can be seen density damage in this region's forests. Studies were conducted in these stands and also surveying was continued in all around the region for determination of bark beetles and their predators. For this aim, trap trees were prepared. The logs were observed in wood storages and cutting stands in surveyed areas of the region. For determining of adult flying period and population density, pheromone traps were used. As a result, 27 Scolytidae species belonging to 2 subfamilies were determined. These are Hylastes angustatus (Herbst), H. attenuatus Erichson, H. linearis Erichson, Tomicus destruens (Wollaston), T. minor (Hartig), Hylurgus ligniperda (Fabricius), H. micklitzi Wachtl, Carphoborus henscheli Reitter, Phloesinus acatayi Schedl, P. aubei (Perris) from subfamily Hylesininae and Crypturgus mediterraneus Eichhoff, C. numidicus Ferrari, C. pusillus (Gyllenhal), Cryphalus piceae (Ratzeburg), Pityogenes bistridentatus (Eichhoff), P. calcaratus (Eichhoff), P. pennidens Reitter, Pityokteines curvidens (Germar), Orthotomicus erosus (Wollaston), O. longicollis (Gyllenhal), O. pinivora Schedl, O. robustus (Knotek), O. suturalis (Gyllenhal), O. tridentatus Eggers, Ips mannsfeldi (Wachtl), I. sexdentatus (Boerner) and Xyleborus eurygraphus (Ratzeburg) from subfamily Ipinae. Among these species O. robustus was recorded first time to bark beetle fauna of Turkey. As predator 19 species belonging to 10 family from 3 order, were determined. Plegaderus vulneratus (Panzer), Nemosama pliginskyi Reitter and N. cornutum Sturm are new records for Turkey.
