Yüzölçümünün % 66'sı I. ve II. derece deprem bölgelerinde bulunan ülkemizde yakın tarihte meydana gelmiş olan depremler, yapısal yetersizliklere sahip mevcut betonarme yapı stokunun büyük risk oluşturduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Bu durumdaki yapıları tespit etmek ve hızlı bir şekilde güçlendirmek gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada, mevcut betonarme yapıların boşaltılmasına gerek kalmadan yapı dışından çelik konstrüksiyon perdeler ile güçlendirilmesine imkan sağlayacak bir teknik deneysel olarak test edilmiştir. Bu teknikle güçlendirme maliyetleri azalacak, süre ve uygulama açısından daha hızlı ve etkili çözümlere ulaşılabilecektir. Sayısal analiz ve deneylerden oluşan çalışma kapsamında betonarme modeller, üç boyutlu, bir yönde tek diğer yönde üç açıklıklı ve iki katlı olarak tasarlanmış ve imal edilmiştir. Deney modellerinin hazırlanmasında, mevcut betonarme yapılarda sıkça rastlanan yapısal yetersizliklerden bazıları dikkate alınmıştır. Önerilen güçlendirme sisteminin etkinliğinin ortaya konulmasında temel alınan referans yapı tersinir tekrarlı yatay yük altında, hasarlı ve hasarsız iken güçlendirilen yapı modelleri artımsal yatay yük altında test edilmişlerdir. Gerçekleştirilen çalışmalar sonucunda, geliştirilen güçlendirme yöntemi ile deprem bakımından yetersiz mevcut betonarme yapıların hızlı bir şekilde güçlendirilebileceği, kapasitelerinin ve rijitliklerinin önemli miktarda arttırılabileceği ortaya konulmuştur. Earthquakes occurred in recent years in our country which has the area of % 66 in the first and second degree seismic zones, proved that existing reinforced concrete structure stock which has structural insufficiencies has great risk. It is necessary to find and strengthen those structures in the possible fast way. In this study, a technique was tested experimentally which was developed to permit to strengthen the existing RC structures from their exterior with steel construction shear walls without preventing the usage. By this way, strengthening costs will be reduced and reached to faster and effective solutions from the point of view of time and application. Within the scope of the study which is composed of experiments and numerical analysis, concrete structure models were planned and produced as 3 dimensional, at one side one bay, at the other side three bay and two-storey. In the producing stage of the experimental models, some of the common structural inadequacies in existing RC structures were taken into consideration. Reference structure model which was based on introducing the efficiency of the suggested strengthening system was tested under reversed cyclic lateral loads, damaged and non damaged structure models which were strengthened with external steel construction shear walls were tested under increasing lateral loads. At the end of the performed experimental studies, it is introduced that with the improved strengthening technique, existing reinforced concrete structures which are insufficient from the point of view of earthquakes can be strengthened rapidly, their capacities and stiffness can be increased significantly.
