Antalya Kaleiçi yerleşimi, yaklaşık elli bin yıllık geçmişi, geleneksel kent dokusu, yörenin yaşam biçimini yansıtan 18.-19. yy. sivil mimarlık örnekleri, anıtsal yapıları, topoğrafyası; doğal, kültürel ve tarihi miras özellikleri ile özel bir konuma ve tarihi bir öneme sahiptir. Kaleiçi Bölgesi; gerek kültürel miras, gerekse doğal kaynaklar açısından oldukça önemli bir alandır. Bu alanın doğal, kültürel ve tarihi kimliğinin korunması gerekmektedir. Bilinçsiz yapılan yenileme çalışmaları, binalara yanlış işlevlerin yüklenmesi, maddi kaygılar, yangınlar ve bakımsızlık, bazı turizm ekinlikleri ve güvenlik sorunları nedeniyle, bölgenin yerleşim dokusu zedelenmiş, geleneksel kent dokusu kimliğinde sorunlar oluşmuştur. Tez kapsamında; Kaleiçi Bölgesi; tarihi, doğal ve kültürel özellikleri ile irdelenmiştir. Bölgedeki mevcut turizm olgusu ve etkinlikleri araştırılmış ve gelecekte yerleşimin turizm açısından nasıl, ne biçimde, hangi ölçütlerde sürdürülebilir olabileceği tartışılmıştır. Çalışmada, yerleşimde yaşayan halk, çalışan esnaf ve işletmeci grubu, yerli ve yabancı turistler ile anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Anket formları 15'er sorudan oluşmuş ve toplamda 250 kişiye uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar yüzdelik (%), betimsel istatistikler (ortalama standart sapma), crosstab (çapraz tablo) dağılımları ve grafiksel olarak SPSS paket programı kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Tezde; anket çalışması sonuçlarının istatistiki olarak yorumlanması ile yerleşimin turizm açısından sürdürülebilir kullanımı için çeşitli öneriler getirilmiştir. Tez; Antalya Kaleiçi Yerleşimi gibi doğal, tarihi ve kültürel miras olarak çok değer taşıyan, ancak çeşitli nedenlerle turizm potansiyelini kaybeden bölgeler için benzer çalışma alanı olması ve söz konusu alanlar için sürdürülebilir kullanım önerileri getirilmesi açısından örnek alan değerlendirmesi niteliği taşımaktadır. Antalya Kaleiçi settlement has a special location and historical importance with natural, cultural and historical properties such as a history of more than fifty thousand years, traditional city texture, architectural samples of the 18-19th centuries which show the regional life style, monumental buildings and a special topography. Kaleiçi region is a very important area in terms of both cultural heritage and natural sources. It should be necessary to protect the natural, cultural and historical identity of this settlement. The settlement texture and traditional city identity has been damaged because of unconscious restoration studies, giving false function to the buildings, economical reasons, fire and disrepair, some tourism activities and safety. In this thesis; Kaleiçi region is studied with historical, natural and cultural properties. Existing tourism fact in the region and its activities have been researched and in the future the sustainability of the settlement in terms of tourism and the criteria of how, what and which has been discussed. In the study, a questionnaire has been done with local people, tradesman and administrator group, domestic and foreign tourists in the settlement. The questionnaire forms have consisted of 15 questions and they have been put into practice to 250 people. The results have been obtained SPSS packaged software as percentage (%), descriptive statistics (average standard deviation), crosstab (cross table) dispersions and graphically. In the thesis; some suggestions have been made for the sustainable usage of the settlement in terms of tourism with the help of interpretations of the results of questionnaires as statistical. The thesis; has carried properties of sample area evaluation for showing similar characteristics as having natural, historical and cultural heritage however losing its tourism potential and in terms of making suggestion of sustainable usage for these areas.
