Bu tez çalışması Finike ardıcının ülkemizdeki doğal yayılış alanlarını saptamak ve türün bazı morfolojik özelliklerini ortaya koymak için yapılmıştır. Çalışmada örnekler Aydın ili Didim ilçesinden türün doğal olarak yetişip hakim olduğu alanlardan seçilmiştir. Bakının, türün morfolojik özelliklerine etkisinin tespit edilmesi amacıyla her bir bakıdan; 92 adet ağacın boy ve çapı ölçülmüştür. Altı ağacın hem toprak seviyesinden hem de 130 cm göğüs yüksekliğinden gövde kesitleri alınmış, 20 ağacın dört yönünden son yılın sürgünleri toplanmış, yine 20 ağacın her birinden 50 adet kozalak toplanmıştır. Bütün bu materyallerin laboratuar koşullarında ölçülebilen tüm özellikleri saptanmıştır. Doğal yayılış alanlarının tam olarak saptanabilmesi ve varsa yeni yerlerin literatüre dhil edilmesi için mevcut ve muhtemel yayılış alanları taranmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; Finike ardıcı Ege Bölgesinde çok sınırlı bir alanda yayılış göstermektedir ve yayıldığı alanlar daha önceden literatürde belirtilmiştir. Ağaçların morfolojik özelliklerine göre ise ortalama boy 435 cm, ortalama göğüs çapı da 11,71 cm'dir. Her bir ağaçta ortalama olarak 1102 adet kozalak bulunmakta ve bu kozalakların ortalama boyları 8,16 mm, çapları ise 7,54 mm'dir. Ortalama 0,36 gr gelen kozalaklardan yine ortalama 3,14 adet tohum çıkmakta ve tohumun bin tane ağırlığı 32,33 gr olarak tartılmıştır. Finike ardıcı fertlerinde öz odunu kahverengi-koyu kahverengi renkte ve ortalama olarak 4,03 cm genişliğindedir. Buna mukabil diri odun açık renkli ve yine ortalama olarak 2,51 cm genişliğindedir. This study was done to determine the natural distribution areas and some of morphological properties of Phoenician juniper. In this study, materials were collected from Didim district in Aydın, Turkey where this species have naturally grown up. For also establishing the effect of aspect to the morphological properties, diameter and height of 92 trees were measured at each aspect. Stem sections were taken from both 6 tree diameter at breast height (dbh) and soil level also last year's tillers were taken from each 20 trees every aspect and each fifty cones from each twenty trees were collected. All of the measurable properties of these materials were determined in the laboratory. The present and eventual distribution areas were cited for establishing the exactly natural distribution areas and new distribution areas included in the literature, As results of this study, Phoenician juniper has a restricted distribution in the Aegean region and the distribution areas had been pointed out in literature in advance. According to the morphological properties of the trees, average length is 435 cm and average diameter at breast height (dbh) is 1171 cm. Each tree has 1102 cones in average and average length of these cones is 8.16 mm, as for the average diameter is 7.54 mm. The average weight of pine cones is 0.36 g and each cone include 3.14 seed in average. Also, 1000 seeds weight is 32.33g. The heartwood of Phoenician juniper species is brown, darkish brown and a mean of 4.03 cm in width. Also, the sapwood has light color and once again 2.51 cm in width, in average.
