Bu tezde, farklı disiplinlerdeki pek çok problemi tanımlayan, reaksiyon-difüzyon ve sığ su dalgaları gibi problemlerde sıklılıkla rastlanan Burgers denklemlerinin nümerik çözümleri, bir ve iki boyutta ele alınmıştır. Bunu gerçekleştirebilmek için konumda yüksek mertebeden sonlu fark yöntemleri ve alternatif olarak altıncı mertebeden kompakt sonlu fark yöntemi, zamanda ise TDA-RK3 yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Daha sonra, çeşitli başlangıç ve sınır koşulları altında, söz konusu yöntemlerle Burgers denklemlerinin çözümleri bulunmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar literatürde mevcut olan analitik ve yaklaşık sonuçlarla karşılaştırılarak, metotların hassasiyeti incelenmiştir. Bulunan sonuçların ilgili analitik çözümlerle iyi bir uyum içinde olduğu, dahası kıyaslanan kimi literatür çalışmalarından daha hassas sonuçların elde edildiği görülmüştür. Böylelikle, ele alınan çözüm yöntemlerinin pek çok problemi çözmek için, literatürde mevcut olan bazı çözüm yöntemlerine son derece iyi alternatifler olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. In this thesis, numerical solutions of Burgers equations describing many problems in various disciplines, and are frequently encountered in some problems as reaction-diffusion and shallow water waves, are dealt with in one and two-dimension. To achieve this, high order finite difference schemes and alternatively a sixth order compact finite difference scheme in space and TVD-RK3 scheme in time have been used. Then, solutions of Burgers equations considered with various initial and boundary conditions have been found by means of the corresponding approaches. The obtained results have been compared with analytical and numerical results in the literature and accuracy of these schemes have been discussed. It has been seen that very good agreement between the results of the present schemes and corresponding exact solutions, and furthermore more accurate than some results given in the literature. It has been concluded that the proposed schemes are quite good alternatives to existing approaches in the literature for solving many problems.
