Bu çalısmada, mikrokapsüllenmis faz değistiren madde (mikroFDM) içeren ısı depolama özellikli akıllı tekstil ürünlerinin gelistirilmesi amaçlanmıstır. Çalısma kapsamında ilk olarak, emülsiyon polimerizasyonu metodu ile allilmetakrilat, etilen glikol dimetakrilat ve glisidil metakrilat çapraz bağlayıcılar kullanılarak, poli(metil metaktilat), poli(etil akrilat) ve poli(bütil akrilat) polimer duvarlı ve n hekzadekan çekirdekli mikrokapsüller üretilmistir. İkinci olarak, akrilik polimer/hekzadekan mikrokapsüller pamuk, pamuk/polyester ve polyester dokuma ile viskon ve Lyocell örme kumaslara emdirme ve kaplama metodu ile uygulanarak kumaslara ısı depolama özelliği kazandırılmıstır. Üçüncü olarak, ısıl enerji depolama özellikli nano elyaf üretimi, nano boyutlu kapsüller içeren PAN ve PVA polimer çözeltisinden elektro lif çekim yöntemi ile gerçeklestirilmistir. Çalısmada son olarak, mikrokapsül uygulanmıs kumasların özellikleri örneğin mukavemet, hava ve su buharı geçirgenliği, ısıl iletkenlik, ısıl direnç, ısıl soğurganlık, kumas kalınlığı vb standart test metotlarına göre belirlenmistir. Üretilen mikrokapsüllerin boyut ve ısı depolama özelliklerine göre tekstil materyallerine uygulama için uygun olup olmadığını belirlemek amacıyla, parçacık büyüklüğü ve dağılımı taramalı elektron mikroskobu (SEM) ile ısıl özellikleri ise diferansiyel taramalı kalorimetre (DSC) yöntemleri ile arastırılmıstır. Kimyasal yapıların teyit edilmesi için Fourier dönüsümlü kızıl ötesi (FT-IR) spektroskopisi yöntemi kullanılmıstır. Mikrokapsül içeren kumasların ve kompozit nanolif yüzeylerin ısı depolama özellikleri DSC kullanılarak arastırılmıstır. Kumasların yüzeylerindeki mikrokapsüllerin dağılımı, nanoliflerin lif çapı ve çap dağılımındaki değisimlerde SEM ile analiz edilmistir. Çalısma neticesinde, mikrokapsüllerin çoğunun nano boyutlara sahip oldukları belirlenmistir. Mikrokapsüllerin ortalama parçacık boyutları 220 nm ile 4,25 .m arasında değismistir. MikroFDMler.in ısı depolama kapasitelerinin genellikle 50-148 j/g arasında değistiği ve nano parçacık boyutları düsünüldüğünde, bu entalpi değerlerinin oldukça yüksek olduğu belirlenmistir. Mikrokapsül uygulaması neticesinde ısı depolama özellikli kumaşlar üretilebilmistir. Öte yandan nano boyutlu mikroFDMler içeren polimer çözeltilerinin elektro lif çekim yöntemi ile nanolif olarak eğrilebildiği ve üretilen nanoliflerin ısı depolayabildikleri tespit edilmistir. In this study, it was aimed the production of smart textiles containing microencapsulated phase change materials (microPCMs). In the scope of study, firstly microcapsules having poly(methyl methacrylate), poly(butyl acrylate), poli(ethyl acrylate) shell and n-hexadecane as core material were prepared by emulsion polymerization using allyl methacrylate, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate and glycidyl methacrylate as crosslinkers. Secondly, acrylic polymer/hexadecane microcapsules were applied to cotton, cotton/polyester and polyester woven fabrics and viscose and Lyocell knitted fabrics to give heat storage properties by using padding and coating methods. Thirdly, production of nanofibers having heat storage property was realized by electrospinning of poly(acrylonitrile) and poly(vinyl alcohol) solutions containing nano size capsules. Finally, the properties of the microPCMs applied fabrics such as strength, air permeability, water vapour permeability, thermal conductivity, thermal resistance, thermal absorptivity, thickness etc. were determined according to the standard test methods. To determine whether the microcapsules are suitable to be applied for textile materials particle size and its distribution and thermal properties were determined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) methods respectively. To confirm chemical structure Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy was used. The heat storage property of the fabrics and composite nanofiber webs were investigated by using DSC. The distribution of microcapsules on the surfaces of fabrics, nanofiber diameter and diameter variations of nanofibres were also analysed by SEM. As a result of the study, it was determined that most of microPCMs have nano sizes. The mean particle sizes were changed between the 220 nm and 4,25 .m. It was determined that the heat storage capacity of microPCMs generally changes between nearly 50-148 j/g and when nano particle size was considered these enthalpy values were considerably high. As a result of microcapsule application, fabrics with heat storage property could be produced. On the other hand it was determined that polymer solutions containing PCM nanocapsules could be spun as nanofibres using electrospinning method and the produced nanofibers could store heat.
