Bu tez calısmasında kompozit malzemenin yaprak yay elemanı olarak kullanılması incelenmiştir. Kompozit malzemeler için tanımlamalar yapılmıs, avantajlı ve dezavantajlı yonlerinden bahsedilmis, üretim yöntemleri anlatılmıstır. Yay malzemeleri sınıflandırılıp, kompozit malzemeden uretilecek yay malzemes olarak cam elyaf-epoksi malzeme secilmistir. Zoreel firmasında üretilen ve standartlarına göre kesilen kompozit malzemenin mekanik özelliklerine çekme, basma ve eğilme deneyleriyle ulaşılmıştır. Kompozit malzemeden prototip bir yaprak yay boyutlandırması yapılmış ve cam elyaf epoksi malzemeli kompozitten her bir yaprağı 8 tabakalı olan, 00 elyaf yönlenmeli ve 6 katlı prototip bir yaprak yay imal edilmiştir. Yaprak yayda n=1.den 6.ya kadar artan yaprak sayısıyla P=9,81 N. luk yük altındaki teorik ve deneysel cokme, gerilme ve yay katsayıları hesaplanmıstır. Boylece artan yaprak sayısı ile yay katsayısı değisim grafiği, artan tabaka sayısı ile maksimum deneysel ve analitik olarak elde edilen gerilmelerin değisim grafiği çizilmiştir. Tasarlanan bu yaprak yay, uc boyutlu sonlu elemanlar yöntemi kullanılarak modellenmiştir. ANSYS programında yayın statik analizi yapılmıştır. Sonlu elemanlar modelinde SOLID 46 elemanı kullanılmıştır. 6 yapraklı yay icin 180 N yük altında ANSYS programıyla modelleme sonucunda uzunluk ve kalınlık boyunca gerilme dağılımlarına, uzunluk boyunca meydana gelen çökmenin dağılımına ulaşılmış ve grafiklerden de çökme ve gerilme dağılımlarına bakıldığında analitik ve deneysel sonucların, sonlu elemanlar modeli ile çözümü yapılan nümerik analizin sonuclarının birbiriyle uyustuğu görülmüştür. In this study, the usage of the composite materials as a leaf spring component is examined. General description of the composite materials is presented and the production procedure, the advantages and disadvantages of the composite materials are discussed. The spring materials used on the market are classified and glass fiber epoxy material is chosen to be used as the composite material presented in this work. Glass fiberepoxy material is produced and cut according to standarts in the Zoreel company located in İzmir. The mechanical properties; tensile strength, compression and flexure tests are conducted. Dimensions are determined to make a prototype of a leaf spring. The prototype composed of glass fiber epoxy composite has six layers and each of these layers consist of eight zero degree fiber orientational plates. Both theoretical and experimental compression, tensile and spring coefficients are calculated under P=9,81 N force with gradually increasing leaf numbers from 1 to 6. Leaf number-spring coefficient and leaf number-maximum experimental and analitical tensile strength graphs are presented. The spring designed with six leaves is modelled using 3D finite element analysis method. Statical analysis are carried out by the ANSYS computer program. SOLID 46 element is used in the finite element model. As a result of the modelling of the spring having six leaves under 180 N weight, stress distribution along the length and thickness and displacement graphics along the length are attained. The displacement and stress distribution graphs are analyzed. According to the test results obtained, analytical and experimental results comply with the test results obtained from the finite element modelling.
