Ağaç malzeme insanoğlunun kullandığı en eski ve en önemli yapı malzemelerinden birisidir. Yaklaşık 10000 çeşit ürün bu malzemeden üretilmektedir, ancak bu malzemenin doğal olarak dayanımı sınırlıdır. Hizmet ömrünü kimyasal maddelerle emprenye edilerek uzatmak mümkündür. Bazı emprenye maddeleri de insan sağlığı için uygun değildir. İnsan sağlığına hiçbir zararı olmayan bor madeninin % 72.si Ülkemizde bulunmaktadır. Bor madenini kullanarak ağaç malzemenin hizmet ömrünü uzatmak mümkün görülmektedir. Orman Genel Müdürlüğünün verilerine göre ülkemizde yıllık yaklaşık 14 000 000 m3 orman ürünleri kullanılmaktadır. Herhangi bir koruyucu işlem yapılmazsa doğal ortamda bu malzemelerin ortalama ömrü 5 ile 10 yıl arasında değişmektedir. Emprenye edilmeden kullanılan ağaç malzemede yıllık milyonlarca lira kayıp söz konusu olmaktadır. Yine yapılan araştırmalarda insanların büyük bir çoğunluğunun müstakil bahçe içerisinde ahşap evlerde yaşamak istediklerini ortaya koymuştur. Yapılan literatür taramasında ahşap koruma işleminin tarihinin insanlık tarihi kadar eski olduğu görülmüştür. Her devirde değişik malzemeleri ahşabı korumak amacıyla denemişler, birçoğundan başarılı sonuçlar elde ederek kullanmışlardır. Bu çalışmada, 2 değişik yöntem kullanılarak, borlu bileşiklerle ağaç malzeme işleme tabi tutulmuş, borun ağaç malzemeye nüfuz derinliği, borla işlem görmüş ağaç malzemedeki ağırlık ve sertlik değişiklikleri tespit edilmiş ve sonuçlar değerlendirilmiştir. Boraks, borik asit, çinko borat, çinko metal borat, amonyum sülfat, di sodyum hidrojen fosfat gibi bor ürünleri farklı sıcaklıklarda eritilerek ağaç malzeme yüzeyine yapışması sağlanmış, yanma deneylerine ve yıkanma deneylerine tabi tutularak sonuçları değerlendirilmiştir. Ağaç malzemeye basınç uygulanarak, borlu ürünlerin ne kadar derinliğe ve ne kadar malzemenin ağaç malzeme tarafından kabul edildiği işlem öncesi ve sonrası % 12 lik rutubet derecesinde sertlik ve ağırlık olarak tesbit edilerek sonuçlar değerlendirilmiştir. Wood that is used by human beings is one of the oldest and most important building materials. Approximately 10.000 types materials are produced from these materials, but the resistance of the material is naturally limited. Service life of these materials can be extended by impregnation with chemical materials. Some impregnated substances are poisonous and they are not suitable for use, for human health. 72 % of the boron material, that is harmless substances on human health, are in our country. It is seen that the service life of wood can be extended by using boron minerals. According to data of the general forest management, it is used approximately 14,000,000 m3 wood products, annual in our country. Without any protective action, the average life of these materials varies between 5 to 10 years in the natural environment. There are loss of millions of Turkish Liras in a year in wood materials, which is used without impregnation, Researches has shown that the vast majority of people want to live in a detached wooden houses in the garden. And a literature survey shows that the history of wood protection process is as old as human history. In each age, the different materials are tested to protect the wood and many of them gave successful results and used. In this study, boron compounds and wood material are processed, by using 2 different methods. The depth of penetration of boron into wood, the weight of wood treated with boron and the stiffness changes were detected and the results were evaluated. The boron products, such as Borax, Boric acid, Zinc borate, Zinc Metal borates, Ammonium Sulfate, Di sodium hydrogen phosphate, are melted at different temperatures and has been made to stick on the surface of the wood material. These materials are subjected to combustion and washing experiment and the results are evaluated. By applying pressure to the wood, it has been identified as the hardness and weight, how deep down boron products and how much material has been accepted by the wood material, before and after operation in 12 % humidity level.
