Denizli-Buldan sulama projesi kapsamındaki Cindere Barajı ve Yenicekent kanal ve tünelleri ile Pamukkale ve Gölemezli ovalarına su verilecektir. Bu projedeki Yenicekent tünel güzergahının mühendislik jeolojisi incelemesi tez konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Yenicekent Tünel güzergahı, Menderes Metamorfikleri olarak bilinen Paleozoyik yaşlı şist ve mermerler içinde kalmaktadır. Güzergh́ta yer alan birimlerde ayrıntılı süreksizlik ölçümleri yapılarak Kaya Kütle Sınıflama Sistemlerinden RMR ve GSI güzergaha uygulanmıştır. Sınıflama çalışmalarında, güzergah 3 ayrı yapısal böyle ayrılmış ve her bir yapısal bölge için en iyi, en kötü ve ortalama koşullar için değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Yapılan çalışmalar ile RMR'ye göre kaya sınıflarının 22-71, maksimum iksasız açıklıkların 60cm-3,3m. iksasız kendi kendini tutma sürelerinin ani çökme-1 yıl arasında değiştiği, GSI. nin 31-50 arasında olduğu belirlenmiştir. This project is the subject of the thesis Yenicekent tunnel route, review of engineering geology. Yenicekent Tunnel route, known as the Paleozoic schists and marbles of the Menderes metamorphic rocks in the fall.
