Bu çalışmada, teknoloji kültürü ve beraberinde getirdiği etik anlayışı araştırılmıştır. Teknoloji; cep telefonu, bilgisayar ve televizyon cihazları ile sınırlandırılmış, üniversite öğrencilerinin bu konulardaki görüşleri anket yolu ile toplanarak değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma kümesini 2009 yılında Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi, T.E.F. Bilgisayar Sistemleri Öğretmenliği ile Bilgisayar Kontrol Öğretmenliği bölümü öğrencilerinden oluşan toplam 251 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bilgi toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı ve alan uzmanları tarafından geliştirilen anket uygulanmış veriler aritmetik ortalama ve t testi sonuçlarına göre yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmada, üniversite öğrencilerinin kulaklıkla müzik dinlerken tanıdıkları ile karşılaşınca kulaklıklarını çıkarttığı, arkadaşları ile konuşurken aynı zamanda cep telefonları ile ilgilenmenin uygun olmadığını düşündükleri, toplu kullanım alanlarında telefonlarını sessize aldıkları belirlenmiştir. Ancak özel günlerde, gelen mesajların diğer kişilere aynen gönderilmesi cep telefonlarının 24 saat açık tutulması gibi konularda bir kültür oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Üniversite öğrencilerinin, e-mail yazışmalarında kişiye özel hitapla başlamaya özen gösterdikleri, resmi e-maillerde ifadelerine dikkat ettikleri belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin gelen e-mailleri geciktirmeden cevaplama, msn gibi ağlarda çevrim içi oldukları halde çevrim dışı görünme, bu ağlarda arkadaşlarından gelen teklifleri kabul etme kültürü oluşturdukları belirlenmiştir. Öğrenciler, televizyonda sevdikleri program varken arkadaşlarının misafir olarak gelmesi durumunda televizyonu kapattıklarını belirtirken, bir kısmının televizyon için uydu bağlantısı yaptırdıktan sonra aile içi iletişiminde azalma olduğu, televizyon izlerken bir yandan da bir şeyler yeme kültürü oluşturdukları belirlenmiştir. Teknoloji kültürü ve etik konusunda, cinsiyetlere ve bölümlere göre bazı konularda farklılık bulunmuş, öğretim türlerine göre ise değişme belirlenmemiştir. Bilgisayar, cep telefonu ve televizyon kullanımında olumsuz kültürel değişmelerin olduğu, etik anlayışının farklılaştığı, ancak oranların çok yüksek olmadığı saptanmıştır. Culture of technology and its associate ethics was investigated in the present study. Technology is limited with cell phone, computer and television instruments and the ideas of the students on these issues were evaluated using a questionnaire. Two hundred and fifty-one students who had registered to Departments of Computer science education and Computer Control of Suleyman Demirel University in 2009 porticiputed in the study. A questionnaire, which was developed by reseachers and specialists in the area, was used in the study and the input data was evaluated by calculating arithmetic avareges and t tests. It was found that university students took off head phones while they meet a friend, they think that it is wrong to play with their cell phones while they are talking to their friends and put their cell phones to silent moden.It was also found that there appeared a culture about forwarding the received messages to the others in private days and holding the phone on for 24 hours. Students reparted that they started their e- mails with personal salutations and paid attentition to their expressions in formal e- mails. It was found that students developed culture of replying e-mails without delay, showing their selves as off line although they are on-line and accepting invitations of their friends in the Internet programs such as MSN Mesenger. Students reported that even if they watch their favorite programs, they switch off the tv when their friends show up. Some of them repated that communication among, the family members reduced after they had started to use satellite TV receivers. Also ıt was found that a culture of eating while watching TV has occurred. About technology culture and ethics, some differences in some areas according to genders and departments were found, however no difference was found according to type of teaching. It was determined that some cultural changes have occured in the use of computers, cells phones and TV and ethic conception has changed but the rates were not so high.
