Su ve atıksu arıtımında ileri oksidasyon proseslerinin kullanımı son zamanlarda oldukça önem kazanmıştır.Darbeli yüksek gerilimli elektrik deşarj (DYGED) kullanılarak baz toksik ve biyolojik olarak parçalanması zor bileşiklerin arıtımı çok yeni bir ileri arıtım teknolojisidir. Oksidasyon prosesinin temel mekanizması, DYGED suya uygulandığı zaman UV radyasyonu, bölgesel yüksek sıcaklık, yoğun şok dalgalar gibi fiziksel prosesleri ve OH, H,O, O2, HO2, H2O2, O3 gibi kimyasal aktif türler oluşturan kimyasal prosesleri meydana getirmesidir. Oluşan bu fiziksel ve kimyasal prosesler toksik ve biyolojik olarak parçalanması zor olan organik maddeleri zararsız son ürünlere dönüştürmektedir.Bu çalışmanın ana amacı ; DYGED teknolojisi ile toksik ve kalıcı özellikteki metil oranj ve remazol oranj organik boyar maddelerinin arıtımını gerçekleştirmektir.Bu çalışmada, farklı koşullar altında boyaların giderimi için 180 cm3 hacimdeki reaktörden peristaltik pompa aracılığıyla geçirilen çözeltiye elektrik deşarj edilmiştir.pH, sıcaklık, iletkenlik, boyar madde konsantrasyonu, debi, voltaj, hidrojen peroksit (H2O2) derişimi gibi parametrelerin arıtmada etkisi gözlemlenmiştir.Her iki boyar maddenin maksimum giderim veriminin sağlanması için, her bir parametrenin optimum değeri belirlenmiştir.Metil oranj (MO) boyar maddesi için pH 4, sıcaklık 25°C, iletkenlik 120 μS/cm, debi 57 mL/dk, voltaj 24 kV, metil oranj konsantrasyonu 20 ppm iletim koşullarında yapılan deneyde 466 nm dalga boyunda okunan absorbans deerleri sonucu en yüksek verim % 89,93 bulunmuştur.Remazol oranj (RO) boyar maddesi için pH 3, sıcaklık 25°C, debi 57 mL/dk, voltaj 18 kV, remazol oranj konsantrasyonu 20 ppm koşullarında yapılan deneyde 476 nm dalga boyunda okunan absorbans değerleri sonucu en yüksek verim % 65,07 elde edilmiştir.Aynı iletim koşullar altında 20 ppm, 50 ppm ve 100 ppm konsantrasyonlardaki RO çözeltilerine 6 mL H2O2 ilave edilmesiyle en yüksek verim 50 ppm konsantrasyonunda % 98,79, 11 mL H2O2 ilave edilmesiyle en yüksek verim 100 ppm konsantrasyonunda % 99,32 bulunmuştur.Yüksek gerilimli elektrik deşarj verilmeden, sadece H2O2'in etkisini gözlemlemek için 20, 50 ve 100 ppm konsantrasyonlarda hazırlanan ; sıcaklık ve pH sabit tutulan boya çözeltilerine 40 g/L stok H2O2 çözeltisinden 6 mL (0,96 g/L) ve 11 mL (1,76 g/L) H2O2 ilave edilmiştir. 50 ve 100 ppm konsantrasyonlarındaki çözeltiler için kayda değer bir verim elde edilmemişken ; 20 ppm için 120. dakikada 6 mL H2O2 ilavesiyle % 15,96, 11 mL H2O2 ilavesiyle % 34,13 verim elde edilmiştir. H2O2'in özellikle yüksek konsantrasyonlarda tek başına verimi etkilemediği fakat yüksek gerilimli elektrik deşarj ile birlikte kullanıldığında verimi önemli ölçüde arttırdığı belirlenmiştir. The use of advanced oxidation processes for water and wastewater treatment has gained importance in recent times.Using pulsed high-voltage electrical discharge for treatment of some compounds which are toxic and difficult to breakdown biologically, is a very new advanced treatment technology. The basic mechanism of the oxidation process, when pulsed high-voltage electrical discharge is applied to water, occur physical processes such as UV radiation, regional high temperature, intense shock waves and chemical processes which forming chemically active species such as OH, H,O, O2, HO2, H2O2, O3. Formed this physical and chemical processes are converting toxic and difficult to breakdown biologically organic substances to harmless end products.The main purpose of this study is treatment of organic dyes which are toxic and persistent properties of methyl orange and remazol orange with pulsed high-voltage electrical discharge technology.In this study, for the removal of dyes under different conditions, electrical was discharged through solution was passed from reactor volume of 180 cm3 by peristaltic pump. Effects of parameters for treatment such as pH, temperature, conductivity, dye concentration, flow rate, voltage, concentration of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) were observed.Optimum value of each parameter was determined for provided the maximum removal efficiencies of both dyes.For methyl orange dye agent, in the experiment under conditions of pH 4, 25°C temperature, 120 μS/cm conductivity, 57 mL/min flow rate, 24 kV voltage, methyl orange concentration of 20 ppm, as a result of absorbance values read at a wavelength of 466 nm, the highest yield was found 89.93 %.For remazol orange dye agent, in the experiment under conditions of pH 3, 25 °C temperature, 57 mL/min flow rate, 18 kV voltage, remazol orange concentration of 20 ppm as a result of absorbance values read at a wavelength of 476 nm, the highest yield was obtained 65,07 %.Under the same conditions, with the addition of 6 mL of H2O2 to RO solution of 20 ppm, 50 ppm and 100 ppm, the highest yield at a concentration of 50 ppm 98,79 %, at a concentration of 100 ppm with the addition of 11 mL of H2O2 99,32 % was found.Without high voltage electric discharge, only to observe the effect of H2O2, 6 mL (0,96 g/L) and 11 mL (1,76 g/L) H2O2 from 40 g/L H2O2 stock solution was added to dye solutions which prepared of 20, 50 and 100 ppm concentration and fixed temperature and pH. While a significant yield was not obtained for solutions of 50 and 100 ppm concentration; with added 6 mL H2O2 for 20 ppm at 120 minutes the yield 15,96 %, with added 11 mL H2O2 the yield 34,13 % was obtained. H2O2 didn't affect the yield alone especially at high concentrations but when used in conjunction with high voltage electric discharge, it was determined that increased the yield significantly.
