Tez çalışması teknik personele çiftçiyi yetiştirmek istediği ürüne göre doğru ve kolay bir şekilde yönlendirme ve Köşk ilçesi için doğru ürünlerin yetiştirilmesini teşvik etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Bölgede ekonomik öneme sahip ürünler başta zeytin incir ve kestanedir. Zeytin Ege Bölgesi başta olmak üzere ülkemizin birçok yerinde yetişebilmektedir. Fakat kestane ve özellikle de incir kalite, ihracat ve işlenmesinde aranan özellikler bakımından Aydın ili genelinde üzerinde özellikle durulması gereken ürünlerdir. Çünkü çok kaliteli, besleyici ve verimi yüksek ürün üretimi bu havzada mümkündür. Bu çalışmada amaç, incir ve kestane gibi iki çok önemli ürünün önemini yeniden hatırlatmak ve üreticiye ışık tutabilmek amacıyla Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemlerinin sorgulama ve analiz kısmından yararlanarak bu ürünlerin yetiştirilmesinde ekonomik getirinin yüksek olduğu alanları belirlemek ve bu alanların pazar değeri yüksek olan bu ürünlere ayrılmasını ve çiftçinin ekonomik gelir seviyesini artırmayı sağlamaktır.Bu çalışma ile incirin ve kestanenin yağış, sıcaklık, toprak yapısı, rüzgâr yönü, eğim, yükselti gibi parametreler dikkate alınarak yetiştirilebileceği alanlar araştırılıp uygun alanlar belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak yaklaşık 188858 dekar incir üretimi ve 34307 dekar da kestane üretimi için uygun alan olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, araştırıcı bu üretim alanlarını incir ve kestane bahçelerine dönüştürme konusunda üreticilere tavsiyelerde bulunmuştur. As a result, approximately area of 188858 decar of fig production and 34307 decar of chestnut production were found as suitable area. In addition, researcher has advised to turn them into these field fig and chestnut gardens.
