Alüminyum hafif metal oluşu ile tanınmaktadır. Bu özelliği sayesinde alüminyum; uzay, havacılık, otomotiv, gemicilik, hidrolik ve pnömatik sistemlerdeki devre elemanları ve hatta ev gereçleri gibi çok geniş bir uygulama yelpazesinde bulunmaktadır. Son yıllarda sürekli gelişim gösteren yüzey teknolojileri alanında önemli bir yere sahip olan Mikro Ark Oksidasyon (MAO) yöntemi ile her türlü alüminyum alaşımı kolayca kaplanabilmektedir. Bu işlemler ile mekanik, yüzey ve tribolojik özellikleri geliştirilebilmektedir.Bu tez çalışmasında MAO kaplanmış ve kaplanmamış AA6082 test numunelerinin tribolojik özelliklerinin belirlenebilmesi için üç farklı deney düzeneklerinde belirlenen çalışma şartlarında testler uygulanmıştır. Pim-Disk Aşınma Deney Düzeneğinde ve Gidip-Gelme Aşınma Deney Düzeneğinde numunelere 0,146 m/s, 0,292 m/s, 0,438 m/s kayma hızlarında ve 50 N, 100 N, 150 N yüklerde, 5000 m (5km) kat etme mesafesinde farklı yağlama koşullarında testler yapılmıştır. Ayrıca MAO kaplanmış ve kaplanmamış radyal kaymalı yatak numunelerin tribolojik özelliklerinin belirlenebilmesi için ise Sabit Yüklü Radyal Kaymalı Yatak Deney düzeneğinde 5 d/d, 10 d/d, 50 d/d, 100 d/d, 250 d/d, 500 d/d, 750 d/d ve 1000 d/d mil hızlarında ve 150 N, 250 N ve 500 N sabit yatak yüklerinde 40 °C sıcaklıktaki yağla besleyerek testler uygulanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında; sürtünme kuvveti, sürtünme katsayısı, aşınma oranı ile aşınma miktarı, pim test numunelerinin yüzey pürüzlülük ölçümleri, kaplama kalınlık ölçümleri, numunelerin makro görüntü incelemeleri, kaplamaların Taramalı Elektron Mikroskobu (SEM), Enerji dağılımlı X ışını spektrometresi (EDX), X-Işını Difraksiyon (XRD) ve Atomik Kuvvet Mikroskobu (AFM) incelemeleri yapılmıştır.Pim-Disk ve Gidip-Gelme deney düzeneklerinde hem yağ beslemeli hem de sınır yağlama şartlarındaki testlerde MAO kaplanmış numunelerden elde edilen sürtünme katsayıları, kaplanmamış numunelerden genellikle daha yüksek çıkarken, aşınma oranları ise daha düşük çıkmıştır. Sabit Yüklü Radyal Kaymalı Yatak Deney düzeneğinde ise; özellikle orta ve yüksek hızlarda MAO kaplanmış numunelerde daha düşük sürtünme katsayıları elde edilmiştir. Aluminum is best known for its light weight characteristics. Aluminum with this feature has a very wide variety of applications from aircraft, aerospace, automotive, shipbuilding ,hydraulics and elements of pneumatic systems to household products. Whole aluminum alloys can be coated easily by micro arc oxidation has an important place in surface process area showing continuous improvement in recent years. With these transactions, properties of mechanical, surface and tribological can be improved.In this study, the tests were applied to determine the tribological proporties of MAO coated and uncoated AA6082 test samples on three different test platforms with determined working conditions. Some tests were realized on different lubrication conditions at room temperature with the velocity of 0,146 m/s, 0,292 m/s, 0,438 m/s at the load magnitude of 50 N, 100 N, 150 N, and with the distance of 5000m by using a pin on disk abrassive test apparatus and reciprocating abrassive test apparatus. Other tests were realized with the rotational velocity of 5, 10, 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, and 1000 rev/min, with the constant radial load of 150 N, 250 N 500 N and feeding a oil with 40 °C in order to realize the tribological properties of journal bearing of the MAO coated and uncoated samples. In the aim of this thesis study, friction force, coefficient of the friction, wear ratio, wear quantities, surface roughness of the pin test samples, coating with measurements, macro view analsys, SEM, energy distributed X ray spectrometer, X-ray difraction and atomic force microscope were all investigated.The wear ratio of MAO coated samples is found lower than the uncoated samples while the friction coefficients of MAO coated samples are generally higher than that of the uncoated ones in the tests of the MAO coated and uncoated samples under boundary friction and lubricating conditions with lubricant feeding in Pin-on-Disc and Reciprocating tester. The MAO coated journal bearings had low friction performance at the medium and high velocities of the shaft on the constant loaded journal bearing in the experimental setup.
