Bu tez çalışmasında, epoksi, ferrosen ve piren yan grupları içeren kopolimerler farklı polimerizasyon yöntemleri ile sentezlendi ve yapıları aydınlatıldı. Ayrıca, hazırlanan kopolimerler farklı sensör uygulamalarında kullanıldı. Epoksi yan grupları bulunan kopolimer, P(MTM-ko-GMA) (P1), 3-metiltiyenil metakrilat (MTM) ve glisidil metakrilat (GMA) monomerlerinin serbest radikalik kopolimerizasyon yöntemi ile sentezlendi ve amperometrik glikoz sensör çalışmasında kullanıldı. Ferrosen (Fc) ve Piren (Pyr) yan gruplarına sahip kopolimerler ise bimoleküler nitroksi ortamlı polimerizasyon ve klik kimyası yöntemleri ile üç basamakta hazırlandı. Birinci basamakta, stiren (S) ve klorometil stiren (CMS) monomerlerinin kopolimerizasyonu, karşı radikal nitroksi serbest radikaline sahip tiyofen bileşiği (Th-TEMPO) ve benzoil peroksit (BPO) varlığında 125 oC’de gerçekleştirildi. Böylece alfa (α) uç pozisyonunda tiyofen (Th) ve klorür yan gruplarına sahip stiren tabanlı kopolimer, P(S-ko-CMS-Cl) (P2) sentezlendi. Sonraki aşamada, klorür grupları azidür (-N3) gruplarına dönüştürüldü (P(S-ko-CMS-N3)) (P3). Son aşamada, P3 kopolimerinin azidür grupları ile etinil fonksiyonel grubuna sahip Fc ve Pyr bileşikleri arasında gerçekleşen 1,3-dipolar halka katılma klik reaksiyonu ile sırasıyla Fc (P(S-ko-CMS-Fc)) (P4) ve Pyr (P(S-ko-CMS-Pyr)) (P5) yan gruplarına sahip kopolimerler hazırlandı. P4 ve P5 kopolimerleri sırasıyla elektro ve optik kimyasal sensör uygulamalarında çeşitli anyonlara karşı kullanıldı.Sentezlenen kopolimerlerin yapı analizleri 1H-NMR ve FTIR ile gerçekleştirildi ve ortalama molekül ağırlıkları GPC ile belirlendi. Kopolimerlerin termal davranışları DSC ve TGA ölçümleri ile incelendi. Optik özellikler ise UV-vis ve floresans spektroskopileri ile araştırıldı. Elektrokimyasal özellikler potansiyostat yardımıyla dönüşümlü voltametri (CV), diferansiyel puls voltametri (DPV) ve amperometrik teknikler kullanılarak yapıldı. In this study, novel copolymers containing pendant epoxy, ferrocene, and pyrene groups were synthesized using different polymerization methods and employed in various sensor applications. The copolymer with pendant epoxy groups, P(MTM-ko-GMA) (P1), was synthesized via free radical copolymerization of 3-methylthienyl methacrylate (MTM) and glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) monomers and then employed in amperometric glucose sensor application. The copolymers containing ferrrocene (Fc) and pyrene (Pyr) side functional groups were prepared in three steps. In the first step, the copolymer of styrene (S) and chloromethyl styrene (CMS) monomers were prepared via bimolecular nitroxy mediated polymerization in the presence of thiophene containing stable free radical (Th-TEMPO) as the counter radical and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as the initiator at 125 0C. This reaction led to the copolymer with alfa (α)-thiopene end group and pendant chloride groups P(S-ko-CMS-Cl) (P2). In the next step, the side chloride functional groups of P2 were converted to azide (-N3) functional groups (P(S-ko-CMS-N3)) (P3). In the final step, 1,3-dipolar click reaction between the azide side groups of P3 and Fc and Pyr with ethynyl functional groups gave the copolymers having Fc, (P(S-ko-CMS-Fc)) (P4), and Pyr, (P(S-ko-CMS-Pyr)) (P5), side functional groups, respectively. P4 and P5 were then employed in electro and optic chemical sensor applications for the recognition of various anions, respectively.The chemical structures of the copolymers were characterized with 1H-NMR and FTIR. The average molecular weights of the copolymers were estimated by GPC. Thermal properties of the copolymers were studied via DSC and TGA. UV-vis and floresans spectroscopies were used for optical properties of the copolymers. Electrochemical properties of the copolymers were performed with cyclic voltammetry (CV), differantial pulse voltammetry (DPV), and amperometric tecniques by using potentiostat.
