Bu çalışmada, Magnum kesme gül çeşidinin vazo ömrü, oransal taze ağırlığı, toplam vazo solüsyon alımı, günlük vazo solüsyon alımı, toplam aerobik mezofilik bakteri sayısı ve çiçek çapı üzerine pulsing (25, 50 ve 75 mg/L NG), nano gümüş (NG), (0.50 ve 1.00 mg/100mL), ve sakkaroz (%2 ve %5) uygulamalarının etkileri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca çiçek saplarının iletim demetlerindeki tıkanma durumu incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, Magnum kesme gül çeşidinin vazo ömrü kontrol uygulamasında 8.5 gün olarak belirlenmiş olup, uygulamalar ile bu sürenin 19 güne kadar çıktığı saptanmıştır. Uygulamaların Kontrole göre oransal taze ağırlığı, toplam vazo solüsyon alımını ve günlük vazo solüsyon alımını artırdığı belirlenmiştir. Sakkaroz uygulamasının bakteri sayısını artırdığı, buna karşılık pulsing uygulamasının kısmen, nano gümüş uygulamasının ise bakteri gelişimini tamamen önlediği belirlenmiştir. Magnum kesme güllerinin çiçek çapı üzerine pulsing uygulamasının etkisiz olduğu, nano gümüş ve sakkaroz uygulamalarının ise çiçek çapı artışını olumlu yönde etkilediği saptanmıştır. Nano gümüş içermeyen bütün uygulamaların 5. ve 10. günlerinde yapılan incelemelerde iletim demetlerinin kısmen veya tamamen tıkandığı, nano gümüş uygulamasında ise tıkanmanın olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Nano gümüşün anti bakteriyel ve anti etilen; sakkarozun normal metabolik aktivitenin devamını sürdürme ve yaşlanmayla birlikte gelişen olayların gecikmesini sağlaması gibi etkileri ile Magnum kesme gül çeşidinin vazo ömrünü önemli ölçüde artırdıkları belirlenmiştir. This study investigated the effects of nano silver (0.50 and 1.00 mg/100mL) and sucrose (%2 and %5) applications, and the effect of pulse treatments ( 0, 25, 50 and 75 mg/L nano silver) on vase life, fresh weight, total uptake of the vase solution, daily intake vase solution, count of total aerobic bacteria, flower diameter of cut rose cv. Magnum. Possible obstructions in the stem xylem system of the studied flower were also determined on the microscope. In this study the vase life of control flowers was determined to be 8.5 day; the life span was further extended up to 19 day by the experimental treatments. There were significant increases in the fresh weight, total uptake of the vase solution, daily intake vase solution of the flowers by the tested experimental treatments as compared to the control group of flowers. The number of bacteria (log cfu/ml) was increased by sucrose treatment, while the number of bacteria (log cfu/ml) was reduced partially by pulse treatments and completely by nano silver application. The flower diameter of cut rose cv. Magnum was not by affected by pulse treatments, but application of nano silver and sucrose affected it positive. At the 5th and 10th days of observations, the stem xylem system were partially or completely obstructed in the flowers of the control group and sucrose group, whereas there were no obstructions seen by nano silver applications. It can be concluded that life span of cut rose cv. Magnum were significantly improved due to the antibacterial and antiethylene effects of nano silver and preventive effect of sucrose on aging and thereby normal maintenance metabolic activities.
