Bu çalışmada Yeni Zelanda Beyaz Tavşanı'nın mide (kardiya, fundus, pilorus), ince bağırsak (duodenum, jejenum, ileum) ve kalın bağırsaklarında (sekum, proksimal ve distal kolon, rektum) glukagon, somatostatin, kolesistokinin (CCK-8), serotonin, substans P (SP), sekretin ve histamin içeren hücrelerin bölgesel dağılımı ve mukozal lokalizasyonlarının belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Sindirim kanalında endokrin hücreler immunohistokimyasal PAP yöntemi kullanılarak belirlendi. Endokrin hücrelerin çoğunun, bezlerin bazal kısımlarında yer aldığı ve bu hücrelerin oval ya da iğ biçiminde olduğu tespit edildi. Mide bölümlerindeki bezlerde genellikle lümene ulaşmayan immunoreaktif hücreler belirlendi. Bu bölümün lamina epitelyalisinde ise daha çok lümene ulaşan hücreler tespit edildi. İnce ve kalın bağırsakların lamina epitalyalisinde lümenle bağlantılı, bezlerinde ise lümene ulaşamayan hücrelerin varlığı tespit edildi. Glukagon immunreaktif (IR) hücrelerin Brunner bezleri dışında tüm sindirim kanalının örtü epiteli ve bezlerinde bulundukları saptandı. İnce ve kalın bağırsak bölümlerinin lamina epitelyalisindeki glukagon IR hücrelerin lümene açıldığı ve kalın bağırsak bölümlerindeki bezlerde ise daha çok lümene ulaşmayan tiplerinin olduğu belirlendi. Somatostatin IR hücrelerin sindirim kanalının çalışılan bölümlerinin tamamında bulunduğu, diğer bölgelere oranla mide bölümlerindeki bezlerde daha yoğun olduğu tespit edildi. CCK-8 IR hücrelerin duodenuma yakın pilorus bölümünde yoğunlaştığı, distal kolon ve rektum bezlerinde diğer bölümlere göre daha fazla sayıda olduğu belirlendi. Serotonin IR hücrelerin Brunner bezleri dışında sindirim kanalının tamamında geniş dağılım gösterdiği ve daha çok bezlerde yerleştiği saptandı. Somatostatin ve SP IR hücrelerinin ince ve kalın bağırsak bölümlerinde istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir farka rastlanmadı. Sekretin, SP ve histamin IR hücrelerin sindirim kanalının çalışılan bölümlerinin tamamında genellikle nadir bulunduğu belirlendi. Sekretin IR hücrelerin çalışılan bölümlerin lamina epitelyalisinde yerleşim gösterdiği tespit edildi. İnce ve kalın bağırsak lamina epitelyalislerinde lümene açılan sekretin IR hücreler tespit edildi. Sekretin IR hücrelerin kalın bağırsak bölümlerinde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık göstermediği belirlendi. İnce ve kalın bağırsak lamina epitelyalisinde histamin IR hücrelerin lümenle bağlantılı olduğu, rektum bezlerinde ise bu hücrelerin lümene ulaşmadığı belirlendi. This study was aimed to determine the regional distribution and mucosal localization of endocrine cells that secrete glucagon, somatostatin, colecystokinin (CCK-8), serotonin, substance P (SP), secretin and histamine in the stomach (cardia, fundus, and pylorus), small intestine (duodenum, jejunum, and ileum) and large intestine (cecum, colon, and rectum) of New Zealand White Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus). Immunohistochemical PAP method was used to determine endocrine cells of the gastrointestinal tract. It was found that most of the immunoreactive endocrine cells, which are oval- or spindle-shaped, are located in the basal parts of the relevant glands. It was determined that immunoreactive cells in gastric glands do generally not reach the lumen. Most of cells in the lamina epithelialis of stomach were determined to reach the lumen. On the contrary, it was noticed that cells in the lamina epithelialis of small and large intestine is linked to the lumen and that the cells in their glands cannot reach the lumen. Glucagon immunoreactive (IR) cells were detected in epithelium and glands of the whole gastrointestinal tract, except for the Brunner glands. It was observed that glucagon IR cells in the lamina epithelialis of small and large intestine are connected to the lumen and that most of glandular cells in the large intestine cannot reach the lumen. It was determined that somatostatin immunoreactive cells are dispersed throughout the gastrointestinal tract and more intensively distributed in the stomach parts than in the other gastrointestinal regions. It was noticed that CCK-8 IR cells are concentrated in the pylorus close to the duodenum and outnumber in the distal colon and rectal glands in comparison with other sections. It was found that serotonin immunoreactive cells were widely distributed in the whole gastrointestinal tract, except for the Brunner glands, and that they are localized in the glands. It was found that there is not a statistically significant difference between the distribution of somatostatin and SP IR cells in the small and large intestine. It was seen that Secretin, SP and histamin IR cells are rarely distributed throughout the gastrointestinal tract. Secretin immunoreactive cells were detected to localize in the lamina epithelialis of parts examined. It was found that secretin IR cells in the lamina epithelialis are opened into the lumen. It was noted that there is not a statistically significant difference between the distribution of secretin IR cells in the large intestine. It was noticed that histamin IR cells in the lamina epithelialis of small and large intestine is linked to the lumen and that histamin IR ones in rectal glands cannot reach the lumen.
