Armut (Pyrus spp.), kültür tarihi çok eskilere dayanan dünyada üretimi ve tüketimi yaygın olan bir meyve türüdür. Rosales takımının Rosaceae familyasının Pomoideae alt familyasından Pyrus cinsine girmektedir. Bu cins içerisinde şimdiye kadar birçok tür tespit edilmiş olmakla beraber, meyvecilik bakımından gerek kültür çeşitlerinin meydana gelişi ve gerekse anaç olarak kullanılması bakımından 13 tür önem kazanmıştır. Bu 13 türü de kökenlerinin Doğu ve Batı oluşuna göre iki büyük grup içerisinde toplamak mümkündür. Ülkemizde 11 tür düzeyinde 17 Pyrus taksonu bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan Türkiye Florası 4. cildinde Pyrus boissieriana Buhse sups. crenulata Browicz olarak geçen alt tür, Güner ve Duman tarafından 1994 yılında tür seviyesine çıkarılarak Pyrus serikensis olarak isimlendirilmiştir. Araştırmamıza konu olan Serik Armudu (Pyrus serikensis) türü de Antalya iline özgü endemik olup Serik ilçesi ovasında dar bir bölgede yayılış göstermektedir. Bu çalışmada Pyrus serikensis'in morfolojik ve yaprak uçucu bileşenleri araştırılmıştır. Morfolojik özelliklerden yaprak, meyve ve tomurcuk örneklerinde ölçümler yapılmıştır. Serik Armudu'na ait tomurcuktaki pul sayısı 3-6 adet, yaprak sap uzunluğu minimum 29,50 mm, maksimum 62,41 mm, meyve eni minimum 12,85 mm, maksimum 21,84 mm, meyvedeki çekirdek sayısıda 2-5 adet olarak bulunmuştur. Serik Armudu uçucu yağ bileşenlerini belirlemek amacıyla yaprak ve çiçek örnekleri oda sıcaklığında kurutulmuş, GC-MS cihazında uçucu bileşenleri belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda çiçeklenme dönemi toplanan çiçekli yapraklarından 35 uçucu bileşen, meyve olgunlaşma dönemi toplanan yapraklı örneğinden ise 48 uçucu bileşen tespit edilmiştir. En etken çiçeklenme dönemi uçucu bileşenler: hex-2(E)-enal (%39,34), hex-3(Z)-enal (%13,46), valeraldehyde (%7,65), Capronaldehyde (%6,76) bileşenleri olarak bulunmuştur. En etken meyve olgunlaşma dönemi toplanan yapraklı örnekteki uçucu bileşenler: Dimethyl sulfide (%23,43), Benzaldehyde (%15,91), Phenethyl alcohol(8,68) ve 2,4-Dimethylhexane (%7) bileşenleri olarak bulunmuştur. Pear (Pyrus spp.) is a common fruit for production and consumption in the world also cultural history based on very old. This genus is belonging to Pomoideae subfamily of Roseaceae family in Rosales order. Although many species were determined in this genus, 13 species gain importance for cultur kinds and using as full-grown.These 13 species divide in two groups according to roots as East and West. Totaly, 17 Pyrus taxa are exit in Turkey, of 11 as species. The subspecies which was stated as Pyrus boissieriana Buhse sups. crenulata Browicz in Volume 4 of Flora of Turkey, was moved to species level and named as Pyrus serikensis in 1994 by Güner and Duman. Serik pear (Pyrus serikensis) that is the subject of our study, is an endemic species for Antalya and spreading in a very narrow areas of Serik plain. In this study, morphology and volatile components were researched. Measurements were made for morphological characteristics of leaf, fruit and buds. Scale number were found as 3-6; petiole length as min. 29,50, max. 62,41, width of fruit min. 12,85 mm, max. 21,84 mm, core number as 2-5 for Serik pear. Leaf and flower specimens were dried in room temperature and volatile component were determined in GC-MS equipment. As a result of analyses, 35 total volatile components were determined from flowering leaves that were collected in flowering period and also 48 volatile component from leafy specimens that were collected in fruit ripening period. The most effective volatile components in flowering period were found as hex-2(E)-enal (39,34%), hex-3(Z)-enal (13,46%), valeraldehyde (7,65%), Capronaldehyde (6,76%). The volatile component of leafy specimens that were collected in fruit ripening period, was determined as Dimethyl sulfide (23,43%), Benzaldehyde (15,91%), Phenethyl alcohol (8,68%) and 2,4-Dimethylhexane (7%).
