Maki bitkileri olan Myrtus communis, Fontanesia philliraeoides ve Paliurus spina-christi türlerini ele alan bu çalışmada, söz konusu türlerin kimyasal bileşimleri ve fenolik ekstraktifleri belirlenmiş, antioksidan üretiminde ve orman endüstrisinde hammadde olarak kullanılabilirlikleri değerlendirilmiştir. Myrtus communis, Fontanesia philliraeoides ve Paliurus spina-christi bitkilerine ait örneklerde şu değerler elde edilmiştir: Holoselüloz %72.64-74.64, selüloz %50.93-53.48, α-selüloz %41.16-43.50, lignin %22.22-24.11, kül %1.76-2.55, etanol siklohekzan çözünürlüğü %2.33-2.91, soğuk su çözünürlüğü %10.23-12.04, sıcak su çözünürlüğü %12.27-12.85 ve %1 NaOH çözünürlüğü %28.11-28.75 aralığında sıralanmıştır. HPLC analizleri gallik asitin (0.59 mg/g) Myrtus communis'de, kateşinin (0.08 mg/g) Fontanesia philliraeoides'de ve epikateşinin (0.85 mg/g) Paliurus spina-christi'de en yüksek değere sahip fenolik ekstraktif madde olduğunu göstermiştir. Sonuçlar, elde edilen değerler ışığında adı geçen maki türlerinin orman endüstrisinde alternatif hammadde olabilecek ve ticari antioksidan üretiminde kullanılabilecek düzeyde olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. In this study which focused on the maquis plants Myrtus communis, Fontanesia philliraeoides and Paliurus spina-christi the chemical composition and the phenolic extractives in the mentioned species were determined and their practicability as raw material in the forest industry and in the production of antioxidant was examined. In the samples from Myrtus communis, Fontanesia philliraeoides and Paliurus spina-christi, the following values were determined: Holocellulose 72.64-74.64%, cellulose 50.93-53.48%, α-cellulose 41.16-43.50%, lignin 22.22-24.11%, ash 1.76-2.55%, ethanol cyclohexane solubility 2.33-2.91%, cold water solubility 10.23-12.04%, hot water solubility 12.27-12.85 % and 1% NaOH solubility between 28.11-28.75%. HPLC analyses indicated that gallic acid (0.59 mg/g) was the major phenolic extractive in the Myrtus communis, catechin (0.08 mg/g) in the Fontanesia philliraeoides and epicatechin (0.85 mg/g) in the Paliurus spina-christi. The results showed that the obtained values from mentioned maquis species were found to be at a sufficent level for a raw material in the forest industry and in the production of commercial antioxidant.
