Bu araştırma, bir yıl süreyle 12 ayı temsil edecek şekilde farklı zamanlarda hasat edilen tıbbi adaçayı (Salvia officinalis L.)'nın drog herba ve yaprak verimi, uçucu yağ oranı ve kompozisyonu, Folin-Ciocalteu kolorimetrik metot kullanılarak toplam fenolik madde miktarı (Gallik Asit Eşdeğeri üzerinden mg/g olarak), fenolik bileşenler, serbest radikal yakalama aktivitesi (DPPH) ve demir iyonu indirgeme gücü (FRAP) yöntemlerine göre antioksidan aktivitelerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Tıbbi adaçayında taze herba verimi 500.0-961.0 kg/da, kuru herba verimi 223.4-556.6 kg/da, drog yaprak verimi 129.6-367.2 kg/da, kuru madde oranı %35.9-62.8, uçucu yağ oranı %0.83-3.33, uçucu yağ verimi 1.35-11.36 l/da, toplam fenolik madde miktarı 14.54-30.83 mg/g arasında değişim göstermiştir. Yaz ve güz aylarında hasat edilen bitkilerin drog herba ve yaprak verimleri, uçucu yağ oranları ve verimleri ile toplam fenolik madde miktarları kış ve bahar aylarında hasat edilen bitkilere göre daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Tıbbi adaçayının uçucu yağ kompozisyonunu oluşturan en önemli bileşenlerin 1,8-sineol (%11.93-31.87), α-tuyon (%15.72-26.26), β-tuyon (%4.51-27.67) ve kafur (%3.65-23.02) olduğu, 1,8-sineol ve kafur oranları ilkbahar aylarında daha düşük oranlarda, α- ve β-tuyon oranları ise ilkbahar aylarında daha yüksek oranlarda bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tıbbi adaçayının en önemli fenolik bileşenlerinin ise rosmarinik asit (15.15-100.57 mg/g), naringin (9.59-41.81 mg/g), hesperidin (9.80-53.26 mg/g) ve rutin (0.73-10.04 mg/g) olduğu, en yüksek antioksidan aktivitenin Mayıs ve Haziran aylarında biçilen ve en düşük antioksidan aktivitenin ise Mart ve Nisan aylarında biçilen adaçayı yapraklarında gerçekleştiği bulunmuştur. This research aimed to determine the effect of different harvest times representing 12 months of a year on the drug herb and leaf yields, essential oil content and composition, total phenols by the Folin–Ciocalteu colorimetric method as mg Gallic Acid Equivalents (GAE)/g, phenolic components, antioxidant activities according to Free radical scavenging activity DPPH and ferric ion reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) methods in common sage (Salvia officinalis L.). Fresh herb yield between 500.0 and 961.0 kg/da, dry herb yield between 223.4 and 556.6 kg/da, drug leaf yield between 129.6 and 367.2 kg/da, dry matter content in the leaf between 35.9 and 62.8%, essential oil content between 0.83 and 3.33%, essential oil yield between 1.35 and 11.36 l/da, total phenolics between 14.54 and 30.83 mg/g were changed in common sage during the harvest periods of growing season. Drug herb and leaf yields, essential oil contents and yields, and total phenolics were found higher in the summer and autumn harvests in comparison to the winter and spring harvests. The main components of common sage essential oil were 1,8-cineole (11.93-31.87 %), α-thujone (15.72-26.26%), β-thujone (4.51-27.67%) and camphor (3.65-23.02%). While the ratios of 1,8-sineol and camphor of the common sage essential oil were the least in spring season, the ratios of α and β-thujone were the highest in the same season. The most important phenolic compounds in the common sage were rosmarinic acid (15.15-100.57 mg/g), naringin (9.59-41.81 mg/g), hesperidin (9.80-53.26 mg/g) and rutin (0.73-10.04 mg/g). The highest antioxidant activities of the leaves were found in the plants harvested in May and June, and the lowest antioxidant activities of the the leaves were found in the plants harvested in March and April.
