Ayvanın anavatanı Kuzey-Batı İran, Kuzey Kafkasya, Hazar Denizi dolayları ve Kuzey Anadolu'dur. Türkiye ayvanın anavatanlarından biridir. Türkiye, 2013 yılı verileri ile 139311 ton ayva üretimi ve 13100 ton ayva ihracatı ile dünyada birinci sırada yer almaktadır. Bunun yanında dünya ayva dikili alanlarında ise 22000 ha ile Çin'in ardından ikinci sırada bulunmaktadır. Bu rakamlar doğrultusunda üretim ve ihracat potansiyeli yüksek bir ürün olan ayva konusu üzerinde pek durulmamış olup, konu hakkında bir literatür eksikliği yaşanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı ayva üreticisi işletmelerin ekonomik durumunun ortaya konularak, pazarlama yapısı ile sorunlarının belirlenmesi ve elde edilen bulgular sonucunda Türkiye’de ayva üretimini ve karlılığını iyileştirmeye yönelik öneriler geliştirilmesidir. Araştırmanın ana materyalini Sakarya, Bursa, Antalya, Bilecik ve Denizli illerinde ayva üretiminin yoğun olarak yapıldığı ilçe ve köylerdeki, ayva üreticisi işletmelerden anket yöntemi ile elde edilen veriler oluşturmuştur. Araştırma bölgesi 2015 yılı itibariyle, Türkiye toplam ayva dikili alanın %70.2'sini, üretiminin %62.8’ini oluşturmaktadır. Seçilen bölgede yer alan ayva üretiminde bulunan bütün işletmeler popülâsyona dâhil edilmiştir. Frekans poligonu yardımıyla popülâsyon dört tabakaya ayrılmıştır. Tabakalı Neyman örnekleme yöntemi ile hesaplama sonucu araştırma bölgesinde 204 ayva yetiştiriciliği yapan işletme ile görüşülmüştür. Elde edilen veriler 2014 üretim sezonuna aittir. Verilerin analizinde uygun nitel veriler için ki-kare analizi, nicel veriler için varyans analizi yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada üretici düzeyinde ve aracı düzeyinde pazarlama marjları hesap edilmiştir. Bu çerçevede mutlak pazarlama marjı ve nisbi pazarlama marjı hesaplanmıştır. İşletmelerde ayva yetiştiriciliğinde etkili olan faktörlerin belirlenmesinde faktör analizi kullanılmıştır. Üreticilerin sosyo-ekonomik ve demografik özelliklerinin, desteklemelerin nisbi karlılık düzeyi üzerinde ne denli etkili olduğu Tobit Model ile belirlenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre; ayva yetiştiriciliğinde işletmeciler, bölgede görülen en önemli sorunun “Don” olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Görüşülen işletmeler ortalamasında ayva yetiştiriciliğinde üretim masrafları 3965.11 TL/da olarak hesaplanmıştır. 1 kg ayvanın üretim maliyeti ortalamada 0.78 TL’dir. Kar marjı ise 1 kg ayva başına 0.56 TL'dir. Görüşülen işletmelerde dekara gayri safi üretim değerinin 5082.91 TL olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Birim alana mutlak kar 1936.36 TL/da, nisbi kar ise 1.71'dir. Araştırma bölgesinde ayva yetiştiriciliğinde etkili faktörler; deneyim, sürdürülebilirlik, destekleme ve örgütlenme, bilişim, girdi, kamusal yayım faaliyetleri, pazarlama yapısı olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ayva yetiştiriciliğinde nisbi karlılık üzerine etkili faktörler; deneyim, sürdürülebilirlik, bilişim, işletmecinin yaşı, deneyim süresi, borçluluk durumu, gazete okuma sıklığı ve internet kullanım bilgisi olup bu değişkenler istatistiki olarak anlamlı çıkmıştır. En önemli olarak görülen sorun olan don konusunda, ilgililerin tahmin ve erken uyarı sistemlerini geliştirmesi gerekmektedir. Ayrıca bu sorun çözümü için tarım sigortasının iyileştirilmesi önemlidir. Üretici örgütlenmesinin teşvik edilmesi, yurtdışı pazarın çeşitlendirilmesi ayva üretim faaliyetinin geliştirilmesi için önemli noktalar olarak görülmektedir. The homeland of quince is in North-West Iran, North Caucasus, Hazar Sea Region and North Anatolian. Turkey is the homeland of quince too. Owing to produced 135406 tonnes quince and exported, Turkey was primary in world in 2012. The export of total was 7909000 dollar. In addition, Turkey ranks second by 22000 hectares harvested area following China. In the direction of these figures, there is not much research on the quince topic which is a product with high production and export potential for Turkey and there is a lack of literature on the subject. The aim of this study was to reveal the economic situation of quince producers, to determine the marketing structure, to determine their problems and to develop proposals to improve quince production and profitability in Turkey as a result of obtained findings. The main material of this study was formed by survey method from the quince producers in the districts and villages in which the quince production is concentrated in Sakarya, Bursa, Antalya, Bilecik and Denizli provinces. The research area accounted for 70.2% of the total area of the quince of Turkey and 62.8% of its production in 2015. All producers in quince production in the selected region were included in the population. With the help of the frequency polygon, the population is divided into four layers. The size of the sample in the study area was calculated as the 204 quince producer by stratified Neyman sampling method. The data was obtained for the 2014 production season. In the analysis of the data, chi-square analysis was performed for appropriate qualitative data, and variance analysis was performed for quantitative data. In this study, marketing margins at producer and intermediary level were also calculated. In this framework, the absolute marketing margin and the relative marketing margin were calculated. Factor analysis was used to determine the factors that affect quince farming in producers. The effectiveness of the socio-economic, demographic characteristics and support of the producers on the relative profitability level was determined with the Tobit Model. According to the findings obtained from the research; producers in quince farming stated that the most important problem seen in the region was "Frost". In the average of interviewed enterprises, the production cost of quince production was calculated as 3965.11 TL. It was determined that the average production cost of 1 kg quince was 0.78 TL. The profit margin was 0.56 TL per 1 kg quince. In the interviewed producers, it was determined that the gross production value was 5082.91 TL. Absolute profits were calculated as 1936.36 TL per decares and relative profit was amounted to 1.71. It was determined that the factors affecting the cultivation of quince in the study area were experience, sustainability, support and organization, information, input, public release activities, marketing structure. Factors affecting relative profitability in quince farming were determined experience, sustainability, information, age of the farmer, duration of experience, indebtedness, newspaper reading frequency and internet usage and it was determined that these variables were statistically significant. Related institutions should develop forecasting and early warning systems for frost, which is the most important problem. It is also important to improve agricultural insurance for this problem. It is important to encourage producer organization and to diversify the overseas market for the development of quince production activity.
