Granit en sert doğal taşlardan birisi olup atmosferik şartlara karşı gösterdiği direnç ve estetik görünüme sahip olması nedeni ile zemin ve duvar kaplamasının yanı sıra mutfak tezgâhları gibi yapı sektöründe birçok alanda kullanılmaktadır. Granitin dayanımının yüksek olması, çok iyi cila kabul etmesi ve parlaklığını uzun süre koruması ile farklı mineral çeşitliliğine bağlı olarak sahip olduğu estetik görünümü granite olan ilgiyi gün geçtikçe artırmaktadır. Ancak granit grubu sert taşların üretimi karbonatlı kayaçlar ile kıyaslandığında kesme verimleri düşük ve testere tüketimleri yüksektir. Ülkemizde ve dünyada özellikle granit türü sert doğal taşların kesme işlemlerinde kullanılan soketlerin ömürlerinin kısa sürede tükenmesi ve buna bağlı olarak birim metrekare başına düşen üretim maliyetinin artması önemli bir sorun oluşturmaktadır. Soketin iki ana yapısı olan matriks ve elmas arasındaki bağı kuvvetlendirmek ve matriksin aşınma dayanımı arttırmak için matrikse karbürler ilave edilmektedir. Yüksek sertliği ve buna bağlı olarak aşınma dayanımını arttırması nedeni ile elmas ve kübik bor nitrürden sonra en sert malzeme olarak bilinen bor karbür soket matriksinde kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. Bu tez çalışması kapsamında öncelikle bor karbür katkılı elmas soketin aşınmaya karşı direncinin arttırılması amaçlanmış olup, bunun yanı sıra güç tüketimi, özgül kesme enerjisi ve gürültü gibi kesilebilirlik parametrelerinin de belirlenerek kesme veriminin ortaya konulması hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaçla öncelikle çalışma kapsamında bir adedi bor karbür katkısız (% 0 B4C) referans dairesel testere olmak üzere 7 adedi farklı bor karbür oranında (% 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 B4C) 350 mm çapında 8 adet dairesel testere üretilmiş olup aynı çalışma parametrelerinde tek bir granit türü üzerinde kesme deneyleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Dairesel testere etrafına kaynaklanan soketler haricinde fazladan üretilen her bir grup bor karbür katkısız ve katkılı soketlerin teorik yoğunlukları, birim hacim ağırlıkları, porozite, Knoop Sertlik değerleri ile ağırlıkça aşınma kaybı gibi metalografik özellikleri belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca numunelerin kırık yüzeylerinden de SEM analizleri gerçekleştirilerek mikro yapısal özellikleri ortaya konulmuştur. Çalışma sonunda bor karbür katkı oranındaki artışa göre kesilebilirlik parametrelerindeki değişimler grafiklerle incelenmiş olup gerek özgül kesme enerjisi gerekse özgül aşınma değişim değerleri dikkate alınarak gerçekleştirilen maliyet analizi sonrasında %1 bor karbür katkılı elmas soketlerin granit işleme tesislerinde kullanılabilir olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bor karbür katkısı ile elmas soket metalografik özelliklerinde değişimlerin olduğu gözlenmiştir. Bor karbür katkılı soketlerin metalografik özelliklerindeki değişimlerin net güç tüketimi, özgül kesme enerjisi tüketimi, gürültü ve özgül aşınma gibi kesilebilirlik parametreleri üzerine etkilerini görmek amacıyla da metalografik özellikler ile kesilebilirlik parametreleri arasında ilişkiler regresyon analizleri ile istatistiksel olarak incelenmiştir. İncelemeler sonucunda soketlerin metalografik özellikleri ile kesilebilirlik parametreleri arasında anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuş olup soket üretiminden sonra soket metalografik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi ile soketlerin kesilebilirlik parametrelerinin tahmin edilebileceği belirlenmiştir. Dünyada bor ürünlerinin, deterjan sanayisinden jet yakıt üretimine kadar birçok sektörde 250’yi aşkın malzemede kullanıldığını görülmektedir. Dünya rezervlerinin % 72'sine sahip olduğumuz bor minerallerinin hammadde olarak birçok sektörde kullanılması, bor ve türevlerinin ülke ekonomisine katkısını daha önemli hale getirmiştir. Bu çalışma kapsamında da yerli üretim olan rafine bor ürünü bor karbürün maden ihracatı içerisinde % 46'lık gelire sahip doğal taş sektöründe kullanılan dairesel kesici takım matriks yapısında kullanılabilir olduğu belirlenmiştir. Because of having good results of resistance against atmospheric conditions and aesthetics of floor and wall coverings, granite which is one of the hardest natural stones, used in many areas of construction sector as well as kitchen worktops. The interest of granite is increasing day by day, due to its high resistance and highly absoption of varnish, the long term protection of its luster and the aesthetic appearance depending on its different mineral diversity. However, when the production of granite group hard stones compared with the carbonated rocks, their cutting efficiency is low and saw consumption is high. In our country and in the world, the depletion of sockets life, which are used for cutting process of granite type hard natural stones, and accordingly the increase in the production cost per square meter constitutes a major problem. In order to strenghten the bond between the two main structures of the socket, the matrix and the diamond, and to increase the wear resistance of the matrix carbides are added to the matrix. Due to its high hardness and accordingly the increasing wear resistance boron carbide known as the hardest material after diamond and cubic boron nitrides, has begun to be used in socket matrix. In the scope of this thesis, firstly, it is aimed to increase the resistance against abrasion of boron carbide doped diamond sockets, in addition to this, it is aimed to determine cutting efficiency by determining cutability parameters such as power consumption, specific cutting energy and noise. For this purpose, first of all 8 circular saws with a diameter of 350 mm ( 1-2-3-4-5-6-7 B4C%) which 7 of them different boron carbide ratio with one of them boron carbide non-additive ( 0 B4C%) reference circular saw were produced and cutting tests were carried out on a single granite type at the same operating parameters. Except for the sockets that are welded around the circular saw, the metallographic properties such as the theoretical densities, unit volume weights, porosity, Knoop Hardness values and weight loss of weaving of each group of boron carbide additive and additive sockets are determined. In addition, their microstructural features have been revealed by performing SEM analyzes on the samples of the fractured surfaces. At the end of the study, according to the increase in the boron carbide additive ratio the cutability parameters have been examined by graphs and it has been determined that diamond sockets with 1% boron carbide can be used in the granite processing plants by taking into account both specific cutoff energy and the specific wear change values. It has been observed that there is a change in the metallographic properties of diamond socket and boron carbide additive. Relations between metallographic properties and cutability parameters have been statistically analyzed by regression analysis in order to see the effects of the changes in the metallographic properties of boron carbide doped sockets on the cutability parameters such as exact power consumption, specific cutting energy consumption, noise and specific wearing. As a result of the examinations, it has been found that there are significant relationships between the metallographical properties of the sockets and the cutability parameters and after socket production cutability parameters of sockets can be estimated by determining socket metallographic properties. It can be seen that boron products are used in more than 250 materials in many sectors from detergent industry to jet fuel production. The use of boron minerals, which we have 72% of world reserves, as raw materials in many sectors makes the contribution of boron and its derivatives to the country's economy more important. Within the scope of this study, it has been determined that domestic refined boron product can be used in circular cutting tool matrix construction which is used in natural stone industry with 46% of the boron carbide in mineral exports.
