Kızılçam, Türkiye’nin toplam orman alanının %24’ünü kaplar ve Türkiye'deki en yaygın ve en önemli ağaç türüdür. Buna rağmen türün hastalıkları hakkında yeterli bilgi bulunmamaktadır. Ülkemizde özellikle son yıllarda, Dothistroma septosporum'un neden olduğu Dothistroma ibre yanıklığı (DİY) bazı bölgelerde endişe yaratmaya başlamıştır. Diğer yandan, dünya çapındaki çam türlerinin önemli patojenlerinden olan Lophodermium seditiosum ve Lecanosticta acicola’nın Türkiye’deki durumu tam olarak bilinmemektedir. Bu tez çalışması kapsamında türe özgü primerler kullanılarak D. septosporum, D. pini, L. seditiosum ve L. acicola gibi bazı önemli patojenlerin kızılçamın simptomatik ve asimptomatik ibrelerinde varlığı araştırılmıştır. İncelenen ibrelerde yalnızca D. septosporum ve L. seditiosum’un bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada, 2013 yılında toplanan 180 adet ibrenin %33,3’ünde D. septosporum, %56,6’sında ise L. seditiosum tespit edilmiştir. Bu yıla ait simptomatik ibrelerde L. seditiosum'un, D. septosporum’a göre daha yaygındır. İbrelerde D. septosporum’un bulunma durumu ibrelerin simptomatik ya da asimptomatik olma durumu ile bağlantılı değildir. Her iki fungusun da Pamucak örnek alanlarında daha yaygın olduğu görülmüştür. Takip eden yılda (2014) toplanan ibrelerin %55,6’sında D. septosporum, %51,7’sinde L. seditiosum tespit edilmiştir. Bir önceki yılda olduğu gibi, simptomatik ibrelerde L. seditiosum daha yaygın olup, D. septosporum’un bulunup bulunmaması ibrelerin simptom durumu ile ilişkili değildir. Bununla birlikte 2014 yılında yapılan örneklemede, 2013 yılından farklı olarak D. septosporum'un Ağlasun’ da, L. seditiosum'un ise Pamucak'ta daha fazla olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bir yıl içinde örnek alanlarda D. septosporum'un bulunma oranında %22,3’lük bir artış gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Turkish Red Pine (Pinus brutia Ten. var. brutia) is the most widely distributed and important forest tree species covering 24% of the total forested areas in Turkey. However, very little is known about its diseases. So far, Dothistroma needle blight (DNB) caused by Dothistroma septosporum and Diplodia shoot blight has been of concern in some localities. On the other hand, information on the other important pathogens of pine species worldwide, such as Lophodermium seditiosum and Lecanosticta acicola is sparse for P. brutia in Turkey. In this study, presence of some important pathogens such as D. septosporum, Dothistroma pini, L. seditiosum and L. acicola in symptomatic and asymptomatic needles of Turkish pine were investigated using species specific primers. Only D. septosporum and L. seditiosum were detected in investigated needles. Out of 180 needles collected in 2013, 33.3% were infected with D. septosporum and 56.6% with L. seditiosum. L .seditiosum was more frequent than D. septosporum in these needles. Whether the needles are symptomatic or asymptomatic was not associated with presence of D. septosporum. It was observed that both fungi were more widespread in sampling plots in Pamucak. In the following year (2014), while 55.6% of needles contained D. septosporum, 51.7% contained L. seditiosum. Similar to previous year, L. seditiosum was more frequent in symptomatic needles, and presence of D. septosporum was not related with symptom status of needles. Moreover, in contrast with 2013, D. septosporum was more widespread in Ağlasun and L. seditiosum was in Pamucak in 2014. A 22.3% increase was determined in the presence of D. septosporum between the studied years.
