Hamamböcekleri en önemli kentsel ve endüstriyel zararlılardır. Hamamböcekleri ile mücadelede öncelikli olarak tercih edilen insektisit kullanımının insan ve çevre sağlığını tehdit etmesi, depolanmış yiyeceklere bulaşması ve hamamböceklerinin kimyasallara dayanıklılık geliştirmesi gibi olumsuz etkileri nedeniyle alternatif kontrol metotlarının araştırılmasına ihtiyaç duyulmuştur. Kimyasal mücadeleye alternatif olarak entomopatojen fungusların insan ve çevreye karşı patojenik ve toksik olmaması nedeniyle güvenle hamamböceklerine karşı kullanılabileceği düşünülmüştür. Çalışmada, Blatta lateralis'den izole edilen entomopatojen funguslar, entomopatojen fungus içeren Nostalgist®, Nibortem® isimli biyoinsektisitler ve Metarhizium anisopliae preperatı laboratuvar koşullarında B. lateralis’in 3. dönem nimf ve erginlerine karşı kullanılmıştır. B. lateralis kadavralarından izole edilip, 109 spor/ml konsantrasyonda hazırlanılan Beauveria bassiana spor süspansiyonunu B. lateralis nimf ve erginleri üzerine püskürtme ve besinlerine püskürtme, Nostalgist®, Nibortem® biyoinsektisitlerinin hamamböceği üzerine püskürtme, İngiltere izolatı Metarhizium anisopliae toz formulasyonunun B. lateralis’in yaşadığı ortama ve besinine bulaştırma, PDA ortamında gelişen B. bassiana sporları ile direkt temas yöntemleri kullanılarak biyolojik etkinlikleri belirlenmiştir. Denemeler 7 karakterli ve her tekerrürde 10 böcek olacak şekilde 5 tekerrürlü olarak Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi, Bitki Koruma Bölümünde yer alan iklim odasında yürütülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda; M. anisopliae’nin B. lateralis’in yaşadığı yüzeye bulaştırma yönteminin en etkili yöntem olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Uygulamadan 13 gün sonra B. lateralis erginlerinde % 100, B. lateralis nimflerinde 20. gün sonunda %46 ölüm gözlenirken, M. anisopliae'nin besine bulaştırma yöntemi uygulanan 3. dönem nimf ve erginlerde ölüm gözlenmemiştir. Beauveria bassiana spor kitlesi ile bulaştırma yönteminde B. lateralis erginlerinde 20. gün sonunda %44 ölüm, nimflerde ise etkisiz kalarak %6 ölüm gözlenmiştir. B. bassiana etkili maddeli Nostalgist uygulamasında 20. gün sonunda B. lateralis erginlerinde %40, nimflerde ise %48 ölüm gözlenmiştir. Nibortem, 109 spor/ml konsantrasyonda hazırlanan B. bassiana spor süspansiyonunun B.lateralis üzerine püskürtme yöntemi, besinine püskürtme yöntemi uygulamalarında kayda değer ölüm gözlenmemiş ve kontrol uygulaması ile istatistiksel açıdan fark olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Yapılan laboratuvar çalışmalarında, M. anisopliae’nin ergin dönemi üzerinde, B. lateralis'in savaşında etkili bir mikrobiyal savaş etmeni olabilecek potansiyele sahip olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Cockroaches are one of the most famous urban and industrial pests. The use of insecticide, which is the preferred choice in controlling cockroaches, has led to the search for alternative control methods because it poses problems such as threatening human and environmental health, contamination of stored food, and the development of chemical resistance of cockroaches. As an alternative to chemical control, entomopathogenic fungi are thought to be used safely against cockroaches because they are not pathogenic and toxic to humans and the environment. In this study, entomopathogenic fungi isolated from Blatta lateralis, Nostalgist® and Nibortem® named bioinsecticides containing entomopathogenic fungi and a Metarhizium anisopliae based product were used against the 3rd instar nymphs and adults of B. lateralis under laboratory conditions. 109 spore/ml Beauveria bassiana aquerous spore suspension isolated from B. lateralis cadavers was sprayed on nymphs and adults of B. lateralis and their bait; bioinsecticides called Nostalgist® and Nibortem® were sprayed on cockroaches; Insects were exposured to a contaminated surface and bait with M. anisopliae powdery formulation as well as the method of direct contact with B. bassiana spores incubated in PDA method was used. All these methods helped the study test their biological infectivity. The bioassays, with 7 characters and 5 replicates (each one with 10 cockroaches) were conducted at a climatice chamber located at the Plant Protection Department of Süleyman Demirel University. At the end of the study; M. anisopliae has been found to be the most effective method of infecting the surface of B. lateralis. Thirteen days after the application, 100 % of B. lateralis adults and 46 % of B. lateralis nymphs died at the end of the 20th day, whereas no deaths were observed in the 3rd stage nymph and adults in which M. anisopliae infected with food was infected. 44% death ratio was observed on adults of B. lateralis in Beauveria bassiana spore mass contamination method at the end of the 20th day while 6% death ratio among nymph was recorded. In Nostalgist application with B. bassiana actives, 40% death ratio among adult of B. lateralis and 48% death ratio among nymph were observed at the end of the 20th day. No significant death ratios have been recorded in Nibortem, 109 spore/ml B. bassiana suspension on B. lateralis spray method and method of spraying onto bait and no statistical variation has been found compared to control application. The laboratory works have revealed that M. anisopliae is an effective microbial method against adult stage of B. lateralis.
