Bu tezde, akışkanlar dinamiği başta olmak üzere farklı bilim dallarındaki pek çok fiziksel olayı temsil eden bazı lineer olmayan kısmi diferansiyel denklemlerin etkin nümerik çözümleri için hibrit bir yaklaşım önerilmiştir. Bunun için öncelikle, doğadaki fiziksel olayları temsil eden matematiksel modellere uygulanan temel yaklaşımlara ve hesaplamalı akışkanlar dinamiğine değinilmiştir. Çeşitli akış hareketlerini temsil ettiği için hesaplamalı akışkanlar dinamiğinde sıklıkla karşılaşılan ve yeni nümerik yöntemler ortaya koyarken test problemi olarak kullanılan Modified Burgers, RLW, MRLW ve RLW-Burgers denklemleri tanıtılmıştır. Bu denklemlerin hassas nümerik çözümlerini üretmek için zamanda MacCormack metodunun, konumda ise altıncı mertebeden sonlu fark ve yedinci mertebeden IWENO sonlu fark şemasının birlikte kullanıldığı bir hibrit yaklaşım önerilmiş ve söz konusu denklemlerce temsil edilen çeşitli test problemlerine uygulanmıştır. Önerilen yaklaşımın etkinliğini ve hassasiyetini doğrulamak için, elde edilen sonuçlar, literatürle karşılaştırılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçların, literatürdeki sonuçlarla uyum içinde olmasının yanı sıra, kimi zaman karşılaştırılan bazı sonuçlara nazaran daha hassas olduğu görülmüştür. Böylece, ortaya konan hibrit yaklaşımın benzer problemleri çözmede iyi bir alternatif olacağı ve benzer hibrit yaklaşımların geliştirilmesine yol açıcı bir rol üstlenebileceği görülmüştür. In this thesis, a hybrid approach has been proposed for efficient numerical solutions of some nonlinear partial differential equations that represent numerous physical phenomenas in the several areas of science, particularly in fluid dynamics. First of all, the basic approaches applied to mathematical models representing physical phenomenas and computational fluid dynamics have been mentioned. Modified Burgers, Regularized Long Wave, Modified Regularized Long Wave and Regularized Long Wave-Burgers equations that are often encountered in computational fluid dynamics since they describe various flow motions, and are used as test problems to suggest a new numerical technique have been introduced. To produce accurate numerical solutions of these equations, a hybrid approach that uses the sixth order finite difference scheme together with the seventh order IWENO (Improved Weighted Essentially Non-oscillatory) finite difference scheme in space and MacCormack method in time has been suggested and applied to various test problems related to above mentioned equations. To validate the accuracy and efficiency of the suggested scheme, the obtained results have been compared with literature. It has been seen that the produced results are more accurate than some results reported previously in some test problems as well as being in good agreement with the literature works. It has been therefore concluded that the proposed hybrid approach would be a good alternative to solve similar problems and would contribute to develop similar approaches.
