Türkiye'deki alternatif turizm türlerinden biri olan termal turizm sağlık turizminin bir alt kolu olarak gelişme göstermiş, insanların sağlıklarını korumak, iyileştirmek, gibi amaçlarla şifalı suların olduğu bölgelere gitmesiyle birlikte başlamıştır. Eski çağlardan bu yana yararlanılan şifalı sular Bizans Roma gibi dönemlerde gelişme göstermiş, Ortaçağ'da ise pek çok kaynak tahrip edilmiş ve şifalı sulardan yeterince yararlanılamamıştır. Günümüzde ise termal turizme verilen önemin artması ile birlikte termal kaynakların olduğu bölgelerin gelişimine önem verilmiş ve bu bölgeler turizm merkezi haline getirilmiştir. Bu turizm bölgelerinden biri de Roma döneminden günümüze ulaşmış Denizli iline bağlı bir yerleşim olan Pamukkale ilçesidir. Pamukkale ve çevresi termal sular açısından oldukça zengin olması her yıl pek çok turistin bu bölgeyi ziyaret etmesini sağlamıştır. Pamukkale fay hattının üzerindeki 3 termal kaynaktan birinin bu bölgede bulunması burada kaplıcaların gelişimini sağlamıştır. Karahayıt bölgesi genel anlamda turizm amacına yönelik olup, farklı ekonomik düzeydeki kişilere hitap edebilecek çeşitli özellikte konaklama yapılarını barındırmaktadır. Bölgeye verilen önemin zaman içinde artmasıyla ve Pamukkale'nin koruma altına alınmasıyla birlikte burada pek çok yıldızlı termal turizm tesisi kurulmuştur. Çalışmada Pamukkale ilçesi Karahayıt kasabasında bulunan termal turizme hizmet eden otellerin kentsel kimlik ögeleriyle bağlantılı olarak mimari yapı ve yapı yerleşimi ölçeğinde analizleri yapılmıştır. Termal otel yapılarının bulunduğu çevrenin fiziksel ve toplumsal özelliklerinin bu yapılara olan etkileri incelenmiştir. Yapılan araştırma sonrasında çizelge ve şemalar oluşturulmuştur. Bu çizelge ve şemalar ile Karahayıt bölgesinde kurulmuş konaklama yapılarının hangi ölçütlere bağlı olarak mimari biçimleniş ve yerleşme özelliğine sahip olduğu ortaya koyulmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar ile mimari kimlik etkileşim şeması oluşturulmuş ve bu çalışmanın sonraki yapılacak olan çalışmalara altlık sağlaması amaçlanmıştır. Thermal tourism, which is one of the alternative tourism types in Turkey, has started with the development of health tourism as a subspecies and going to zones where the healing waters are for purposes such as protecting and improving people's health. The medicinal waters benefited since ancient times have developed in periods such as Byzantine and Roman, and many resources have been destroyed in medieval times and have not been sufficiently utilized in the healing waters. Nowadays, with the increase of the importance given to thermal tourism, importance is given to the development of the areas with thermal resources and these regions have become tourism centers. One of these tourism areas is the Pamukkale district, a settlement in Denizli, which has reached daily from Roman times. The fact that Pamukkale and its environs are very rich in terms of thermal waters ensures that many tourists visit this region every year. The presence of one of the three thermal welding on the Pamukkale fault line in this region has provided the development of the thermal springs here. The Karahayit region is generally aimed at tourism purposes and accommodates a variety of accommodation facilities that can be addressed to people of different economic levels. With the increase in the area given to the region over time and with the protection of Pamukkale, many star thermal tourism facilities have been established here. In the study, the hotels serving thermal tourism in the Karahayit town of Pamukkale district were analyzed in terms of architectural structure and building settlement scale in connection with urban identity. The effects of these constructions on the physical and social characteristics of the surrounding area where thermal hotel constructions are located have been examined. With these charts and diagrams, it has been revealed that the accommodation structures established in Karahayıt region have architectural form and settlement characteristics depending on which parameters.The result of the interaction with the architectural identity has been created and it is aimed to establish the working platform of this work.
