Yağ gülü (Rosa damascena Mill.), parfüm ve kozmetik endüstrisinin en önemli kokulu gül türüdür. Bu araştırmada, yağ gülü çiçeklerinden yüksek verimlilikte ve kalitede konkret ve absolüt elde etmek için ekstraksiyon yapımında yaygın olarak kullanılan n-hekzan ile birlikte alternatif olarak etil asetat ve dietil eter gibi organik solventler denenmiştir. Bu amaçla çiçeklenme sezonu başında, ortasında ve sonunda olmak üzere üç farklı hasat döneminde solvent ekstraksiyonu ile konkret ve konkretten de etil alkol ekstraksiyonu ile absolüt elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen gül ürünlerinin uçucu yağ bileşenleri GC/MS cihazı ile analiz edilmiştir. En yüksek konkret verimi % 1.83 ile çiçeklenme sezonu sonunda etil asetat ekstraksiyonu ile, en yüksek absolüt verimi ise % 88.07 ile çiçeklenme sezonu sonunda dietil eter ekstraksiyonu ile elde edilmiştir. Hasat dönemlerine ait genel ortalamalar dikkate alındığında, hem konkret hem de absolüt üretiminde çiçeklenme sezonu sonunda yapılan ekstraksiyonlar ticari olarak daha iyi randıman değerleri vermiştir. Kısmen polar bir çözücü olan etil asetatın n-hekzan ve dietil eter gibi apolar çözücülere göre yağ gülü çiçeklerindeki aromatik maddeleri daha iyi çözdüğü ve hem konkret hem de absolüt üretiminde daha fazla çiçek tasarrufu sağladığı belirlenmiştir. Ekstrakt kalitesi yönüyle ele alındığında, her ne kadar n-hekzan ürünleri daha fazla sayıda koku bileşeni içeriyor olsa da, temel koku bileşeni olan feniletil alkol bakımından etil asetat ve dietil eter konkretlerinin (sırasıyla % 56.32 ve % 49.11) ve absolütlerinin (sırasıyla % 43.26 ve % 45.57) daha zengin oldukları anlaşılmıştır. Oil-bearing rose (Rosa damascena Mill.) is the most important rose species used in the fragrance and cosmetic industries. In this research, it was used different organic solvents as n-hexane (it is traditionally used in rose concrete production), diethyl ether and ethly acetate as alternatives to produce concrete and absolute with higher yield and quality from the flowers of oil-bearing rose. After harvesting of the oil-bearing rose flowers in the beginning, middle and end of the flowering season, concrete was extacted from the rose flowera using the solvents, and absolute was produced from the concrete with ethyl alcohol extaction. The compounds in the volatile oils of rose products were analyzed by GC/MS. While the highest concrete yield (1.83 %) was obtained from ethyl acetate exraction, the highest absolute yield (88.07 %) was obtained from the concrete produced from diethyl ether extraction of the rose flowers harvested at the end of flowering season. Considering the overall average of the harvest season, the highest concrete and absolute productivities were obtained with commercial value from the extractions of flowers at the end of the season. Compared with the n-hexane and diethyl ether as both apolar solvents, ethyl acetate as the partial polar solvent gave the highest concrete yield by extacting better the aromatic compounds of the flowers, and also provided more flowers saving in concrete and absolute production. Concretes and absolutes of ethyl acetate and diethyl ether were rich in phenylethyl alcohol which was the main scent molecule compared whith n-hexane including more volatile oil compounds.
