2016 yılında yürütülen tez çalışmasında, petal renkleri ve petal sayıları farklı toplam 27 genotip (gama ışını uygulanmamış tohumlardan yetiştirilen 9 adet genotip, 100 Gray gama ışını uygulanmış tohumlardan yetiştirilen 9 adet mutant ve 200 Gray gama ışını uygulanmış tohumlardan yetiştirilen 9 adet mutant) materyal olarak kullanılmıştır. Kontrol olarak, yörede kültürü yapılan ve vejetatif olarak çoğaltılan Rosa damascena genotipi (İsmail Efendi-1888) olan Rd-Isparta (pembe renkli ve 30 petal yapraklı) yer almıştır.Çalışmada 27 adet yağ gülünün; ilk ve son çiçeklenme tarihleri, çiçeklenme gün sayıları, petal rengi, Minolta renk değerleri, bitki başına çiçek sayısı, çiçek başına petal sayısı, çiçek başına anter sayısı, çiçek başına stigma sayısı, pedisel-hipantiyum tüylülüğü (var/yok), çiçek çapı, çiçek ağırlığı ve petal oranı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca bazı genotiplerin ve mutantların taze çiçeklerinde Clevenger tipi su distilasyonu yöntemi ile uçucu yağ verimi (%) tespit edilmiş, bütün genotip ve mutantların taze yağ gülü çiçeklerinin floral uçucu bileşenleri ise gaz kromatografisi/kütle spektrometresi (GC-MS) ile kombine edilmiş Tepe Boşluğu-Katı Faz Mikro Ekstraksiyon (HS-SPME) tekniği ile tespit edilmiştir. Yağ gülü genotiplerinin petal rengi beyazdan koyu pembeye kadar değişmiş, sadece pembe değil beyaz renkli olanların da tarımsal ve teknolojik özellikleri yönüyle değerlendirilebileceği ortaya konulmuştur. Genel olarak petal sayısı az olanlar (5-10 petal) daha erken, petal sayısı fazla olanlar (>25 petal) daha geç çiçeklenme eğilimi göstermiştir. Yalın katlı yağ güllerinin katmerli yağ güllerine göre ağırlıkça daha hafif, koku yoğunluğunun daha az, petal ömrünün daha kısa ve petal dökümünün daha kolay olduğu belirlenmiştir. Petal sayısı ve anter sayısı arasında ortaya çıkan önemli ve negatif ilişkinin (r = -0.85**) A, B ve C gibi MADS-box fonksiyon genlerinin homeotik fonksiyonları sonucu olabileceği anlaşılmıştır. Pedisel, hipantiyum ve sepal yaprakları tüysüz (çıplak) olan genotiplerin tüylü olanlara göre daha az kokulu, ancak gül yaprak bitine (Macrosiphum rosae) daha dayanıklı oldukları gözlenmiştir. HS-SPME ve GC-MS analizlerine göre, taze çiçeğin en önemli floral koku molekülü feniletil alkol olmasına karşın, damıtma ürünü gül yağının en önemli koku moleküllerinin sitronellol ve geraniol gibi monoterpenik alkoller (oleoptenler) ile nonadesan ve heneikosan gibi parafinik hidrokarbonlar (stearoptenler) olduğu, hem gül yağı verimi ve hem de konkret verimi bakımından kontrolü geçen genotipler bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. In the present research carried out in 2016, a total of 27 genotypes and mutants (9 genotypes grown by the seeds with no gamma ray irradiation, 9 mutants grown by the seeds treated with gamma ray irradiation dose of 100 Gray and 9 mutants grown by the seeds with gamma ray irradiation dose of 200 Gray) differing in petal color and petal number were used as material As control, Rosa damascena genotype (Ismail Efendi-1888) that locally grown and vegetatively propagated was used and coded as Rd-Isparta (pink colours and 30 rose petal leaves).It was determined first and last flowering dates, flowering day numbers, petal color, minolta color values, flower number per plant, petal number per flower, anther number per flower, stigma number per flower, pedicel-hypanthium hairiness (present or absent), flower diameter, flower weight per fower and petal ratio. Essential oil yields (%) of some genotypes and mutants were produced by hydro-distillation using a Clevenger-type apparatus, and also the essential oil compounds of the fresh flowers were detected by using headspace solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) combined with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS). It has been demonstrated that the petal color of the oil rose genotypes amd mutants changed from white to dark pink. It was found that not just pink but white ones were also able to evaluate for their agricultural and technological properties. In general, those with a low number of petals (single flowers with 5-10 petals) tend to flow earlier, those with a higher number of petals (multi-petalled flowers with >25 petals) tend to bloom later. Single flowers have been determined to be less weight, less fragrant, shorter petal life and easier petal casting when compared to the multi-petalled flowers. The important and negative relationship (r = -0.85**) between the number of petals and the number of anthers may be the result of the homeotic functions of MADS-box function genes such as A, B and C. It was a significant observation that the genotypes with hairless (naked) hypanthia, pedicels and sepal leaves were less fragrant, but more resistant to rose aphid (Macrosiphum rosae L.). According to the HS-SPME and GC-MS analysis, while the most important floral scent molecule of the fresh flower was phenylethyl alcohol, the most important molecules of distilled rose oil were monoterpenic alcohols (oleoptenes) such as citronellol and geraniol, and paraffinic hydrocarbons (stearoptenes) such as nonadecane and heneicosan.
