Tekstil sektöründe kurutma işlemi, fazla enerji gerektiren pahalı ve zahmetli bir süreçtir. Kullanılan malzemenin kalitesi ve yapısal özelliklerini bozmadan, minimum süre ve maliyette maksimum enerji tasarrufu ve verimliliğini sağlamak, yapılan kurutma işleminin temel amacıdır. Bu çalışmada farklı hammadde, farklı örgü ve dokuma yapısı ve farklı gramaja sahip tekstil malzemelerinin kuruma özellikleri ve ısıl karakterizasyonları tespit edilerek kurutulan tekstil malzemelerinin boyutsal değişimleri belirlendi. Deneylerde nemlendirilmiş numunelere kabin kurutucu vasıtasıyla sıcak hava ile konveksiyonel kurutma işlemi yapıldı. Farklı kurutma sıcaklıklarında deneye tabi tutulan numunelerin ağırlık değişimi, kuruma hızları, sıcaklık değişimleri ve boyut değişimleri incelendi, tablolar ve grafikler halinde gösterildi. Drying in the textile industry is an expensive and laborious process which requires much energy. Providing minimum time and cost with maximum energy saving and energy efficiency is the main purpose of a drying process without breaking of the quality and the structural features of the material which is used. In this master thesis drying properties and thermal characterizations and also dimensional changes of textile products were determined which have different raw materials, knitting and weaving structure and weights. In the experiments, convection drying process was carried out to the humidified samples by means of oven with hot air. The weight changes, the drying speeds, the temperature changes and the dimensional changes of the samples which were tested in different drying temperatures were examined and shown in tables and graphs.
