Bu çalışmada, makilik alanlarda yetişen ve ülkemizde geniş yayılış alanına sahip, biyokütle bakımından yüksek miktarlarda bulunmasına karşın endüstriyel açıdan bakıldığında herhangi bir kullanım alanına sahip olmayan Kermes meşesi (Quercus coccifera L.) bitkisinin odunundan izole edilen hemiselülozlar oktanoil, dekanoil ve lauroil klorür ile esterlenmiş ve ortaya çıkan ürünler karakterize edilmiştir. Ester ürünlerin sübstitüsyon dereceleri 0.62 ile 0.74 ve yüzde verimleri 52.66 ile 55.78 aralığında yer almıştır. FTIR analizleri sonucunda elde edilen spektrumlardaki 3410, 2922, 2854 ve 1742 cm-1'deki bandların absorpsiyon değerlerindeki farklılaşma türevlenmenin gerçekleşmiş olduğunu göstermiştir. TGA analizleri sonuçlarında ester ürünlerinin termal dayanıklılığının doğal hemiselüloza oranla daha düşük olduğu görülmüştür. Çalışma sonuçları, Kermes meşesi hemiselülozlarından oktanoil, dekanoil ve lauroil klorür ile elde edilen ester ürünlerinin hızlı parçalanabilen ve doğaya karışabilecek plastik malzeme niteliği taşıdığını ortaya çıkarmıştır. In this study, the hemicelluloses were esterified using octanoyl, decanoyl and lauroyl chloride. The hemicelluloses were isolated from the wood of Kermes oak (Quercus coccifera L.) which grows in maquis areas and has a wide distribution in our country but does not have any use in industrial area although it presents high amount of biomass. The obtained ester products were characterized. The substitution degrees (DS) of ester products were varied between 0.62 and 0.74 and percents of yields between 52.66 to 55.78. The changes in the absorption values of bands at 3410, 2922, 2854 and 1742 cm-1 in the obtained FTIR spectra indicated that derivation had taken place. The results of TGA analyzes showed that the thermal stability of ester products was found to be lower than that of natural hemicelluloses. The results of the study revealed that the ester products obtained with octanoyl, decanoyl and lauroyl chloride from Kermes oak hemicelluloses can rapidly degrade and penetrate into the environment.
