Yalvaç Masalları Üzerine Bir İnceleme adını taşıyan tezimiz Yalvaç yöresi masalları üzerine yapılmış ilk ilmi çalışmadır. Bu çalışma ile, hayatımızı kolaylaştıran ve güzelliştiren teknolojinin, sözlü geleneğimize ve Türk halk kültürüne yapmış olduğu olumsuz etkilere, bir dereceye kadar karşı koyabilecek, kültürün devamının sağlanmasına katkı sağlayabilecek bir eser ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Yaklaşık iki senelik bir saha araştırması sonucunda topladığımız yetmiş masal çalışmaya esas alınmış, yazıya geçirilmek suretiyle yok olması önlenmiş, ilim ve kültür alemine kazandırılmıştır. Tezimiz, girişten sonra, üç bölüm, sonuç ve bibliyografyadan ibarettir. Giriş bölümünde, Yalvaç'ın Coğrafi , Tarihi, Sosyal, Kültürel ve Iktisadi yapısı üç başlık altında verilmiştir. Çalışmamıza esas olan yetmiş masalın, birinci bölümde masalların tip tasnifleri yapılarak Türk ve Dünya masalları arasındaki yerleri tespit edilmiştir. Önce Türk masal kataloğu Eberhard-Boratav katoloğu ile mukayese edilerek oradaki tip numaraları verilmiş; daha sonra dünya masalları katoloğu olan Aarne-Thompson kataloğundaki tip numaraları verilmek suretiyle Yalvaç masallarının Türk ve Dünya masalları arasındaki yeri tespit edilmiştir. İkinci Bölümde incelememize esas olan yetmiş masal, Yalvaç Masallarındaki Ortak Unsurlar başlığı altında, Temler, Kahramanlar ve Çevre unsurları bakımından incelenmiştir. Birkaç mahalli yer adı dışında, Yalvaç masallarındaki ortak unsurların, Türk masallarında kullanılan ortak unsurlar olduğu görülmüştür.Bu Bölümde Prof. Dr. Saim Sakaoğlu'nun Gümüşhane Masalları adlı eserinde izlenen metot esas alınmıştır. Tezimizin üçüncü bölümünde, derlediğimiz yetmiş masalı, günümüz imlasına uygun olarak düzgün cümlelerle yazarken, masal kahramanlarının konuşmalarında geçen yöreye ait kelimeleri de muhafaza etmeye gayret ettik. Çünkü masalları yöreye bağlayan unsurların başında ağız özelliğinin yanında yöreye ait kelime ve deyimler gelmektedir. Metinlerin sonunda geçen isimler kaynak şahıslar olup, kimlik bilgilerini, doğum yeri, yaşı, tahsil durumu ve mesleğini bildirerek dipnotta verdik. Yalvaç ve yöresinde kaybolmaya yüz tutan masal hazinemiz hem geçmişimizi bize unutturmayacak, hem bugünümüzde yol gösterecek ve hem de geleceğimize ışık tutacak olmasından dolayıdır ki mazi-hal-istikbal köprüsünü kuracaktır.
Our thesis, under the headline "A Study on Yalvaç Tales", is the first scientific work performed on the tales which belong to the vicinity of Yalvaç. The aim of this study is to create such a work to contribute to the continuotion of a culture which can resist, to some extent, the negative effects, caused by the technology facilitating and beautifying our life, on our oral tradition and the Turkish folk culture. As the result of nearly a two-year field research, 70 tales were collected and expressed in writing, thus being prevented from being extinct and causing to be gained by the science and culture world. Our thesis consists of, after introduction, 3 chapters, conclusion and bibliyography. In the part of introduction, the geographical, historical, social, cultural and economic structure of Yalvaç were given under 3 headings. In the first chapter, the 70 tales we collected were classified according to their types and their places in Turkish and world tales were determined. First the Turkish tale catalogue was compared and contrasted with the Eberhard-Boratav catalogue, and the type numbers there were given, then the type numbers in the Aarne-Thompson catalogue which is the catalogue of the world tales were given, thus the place of Yalvaç tales in the Turkish and world tales being determined. In the second chapter, the 70 tales were considered in respect of themes, heros and environmental factors under the heading "The common Factors in Yalvaç Tales." Except for a few local names of place, the common factors in Yalvaç tales were seen to be the common factors exploited in the Turkish tales. In this chapter, the method followed in "Gümüşhane Masalları" by Prof.Dr. Saim Sakaoğlu was taken as the basis. In the third chapter, we tried not only to write the 70 tales in proper sentences according to today's orthography, but also to preserve the words passing in the speeches of the tale heros/heroines peculiar in the speeches of the local area, for the chief circumstance of the locality in respect of tales are, besides the property of dialect, the vocabulary and phrases which belong to the local area. The names passing at the end of the texts are the reference persons, and their knowledge of identity, places of birth, ages, levels of education and occupations were given in footnotes. Our treasury of tales in the vicinity of Yalvaç will both ensure us not to forget our past and guide our present time and light our future, for which it will be a bridge between the past, today and the future.
