Ekonomik gelişme sürecinde büyük bir öneme sahip olan girişimcilik, disiplinler üstü bir kavram olduğu için pek çok araştırmacının ilgi odağı olmuştur. Fakat literatürdeki bu yoğun ilgiye rağmen hala girişimcinin kim olduğu ve girişimciliğin ne olduğu konusunda ortak bir fikir birliği bulunmamaktadır. Girişimcilikle ilgili varolan evrensel bir teori bulunmamakla birlikte, girişimciliği çeşitli açılardan ele alan ve ekonomi, psikoloji, sosyoloji, antropoloji ve bölgesel bilimleri kapsayan birçok farklı yaklaşımlar mevcuttur. Bu yaklaşımların hepsi girişimciliği farklı açılardan ele alıp, girişimciliğin ayrı ayrı noktalarına ışık tutmaktadırlar. Girişimcilik çok disiplinli bir olgu olmasından dolayı, girişimciliğin tanımında ve belirleyici özelliklerinde ekonomik, psikolojik ve sosyal faktörlerin oldukça önemli olduğu herkes tarafından kabul edilmektedir. Girişimciler, son derece heterojen bir grubu tasvir ettiği için, girişimciler sahip oldukları özelliklere göre çeşitli tipler halinde sınıflandırılmaktadır. Literatüre bakıldığında birçok araştırmacı farklı farklı girişimci tipleri öne sürmektedir. Literatürdeki bu tipoloji farklılığı, girişimcilerin demografik özellikleri, psikolojik özellikleri veya iş stratejileri gibi farklı özelliklerinin kullanılmasından kaynaklanmaktadır. Bu tipolojiler hem girişimcilikle ilgili teorik yapıya katkı sağlarken, hem de girişimciliğin artmasına yönelik uygulanacak politikalar için oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Bu çerçevede bu çalışmanın amacı, İBBS Düzey 2 TR61 Bölgesini oluşturan Antalya, Burdur ve Isparta illerinde, girişimci olmayı etkileyen ekonomik, psikolojik ve sosyolojik etmenleri ortaya koymak ve bu bölgede bir girişimci tipolojisi oluşturarak, iller arasındaki girişimci tip farklılıklarını incelemektir. Entrepreneurship, as a critical asset in the process of economic development, has attracted many researchers since it has been a trans-disciplinary concept. Although there is a wide attention in literature, there is no absolute consensus on the definitions of entrepreneur and entrepreneurship. Although there is no universal theory about entrepreneurship, there are many different approaches which deal with entrepreneurship in various aspects including economy, psychology, sociology, anthropology and regional sciences. All these approaches have discussed about entrepreneurship in various aspects and throw a new light on this matter. Because of the existing multi disciplinary phenomenon of entrepreneurship, it is widely accepted that economic, social and physiological factors have been highly formative for the determination and definition of these concepts. Entrepreneurs are categorized according to their features because entrepreneurs constitute a fairly heterogeneous group of people. In literature, many researchers suggest different entrepreneur types. These typology differences in literature grow out of using different features such as demographic and psychological characteristics or business strategies. These typologies both make a contribution to the theory of entrepreneurship and are quite for the policies aiming the increase of entrepreneurial activities. In this context, the aim of this thesis is to display economic, psychological and sociological factors which affect becoming entrepreneur in Antalya, Burdur and Isparta provinces which constitute the NUTS 2 TR61 Region, and examine the differences of entrepreneur types among these provinces by developing the entrepreneur typology in this region.
