İşletmelerin içinde bulundukları çevre koşulları günden güne değişmekte ve bu değişimler onları çeşitli riskler ve belirsizliklerle karşı karşıya getirmektedir. Karşılaşılan bu gibi olumsuzluklar, krizlerin ortaya çıkmasına neden olmaktadır. Bu krizlerin etkileri, kendi iç dinamiklerine göre, ülkeden ülkeye veya işletmeden işletmeye farklılık gösterebilmektedir. Bu noktadan hareketle yapılan bu çalışmada, finansal krizlerin, ekonomide önemli bir yer tutan küçük ve orta ölçekli işletmeler üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmakta, kriz dönemlerinde KOBİ'lerin karşılaştıkları sorunların belirlenmesi ve bu sorunlara yönelik uygulanması gereken finansal eylem ve önlemlerin tespiti amaçlanmaktadır. Bu kapsamda, öncelikle, krizlerle ilgili literatür özetlenmekte ve KOBİ'ler hakkında gerekli teorik bilgiler verildikten sonra krizlerin KOBİ'lere olası etkilerine değinilmektedir. Daha sonra bu çerçevede son dönemde yaşanan global mali kriz incelenmekte ve Türkiye Ege Bölgesi İzmir ilindeki küçük ve orta ölçekli tekstil işletmelerinin sahipleri veya üst kademe yöneticileri üzerinde bir araştırma anketi uygulanmaktadır. Bu sayede, KOBİ'lerin kriz sürecinde karşılaştığı sorunlar ve uyguladıkları finansal eylem ve önlemleri ortaya konulmaya çalışılmaktadır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Kriz, KOBİ, Finansal Sorunlar.
Ever-changing nature of business environments are bringing firms to risky and uncertain conditions, which might further involve the outbreak of crises. The effects of crises, may vary across national economies or businesses. From this point, this study aims to determine the problems that SMEs face in crisis periods and find out financial measures to be implemented in such times of turmoil. The study thus investigates the effects of financial crisis on SMEs, which play an important role in economies. In this context, the review of the literature on crisis and theoretical approaches on SMEs are given at first and this is followed by the section that draws on the possible effects of crises on SMEs. Later, in this framework the global financial crisis is analyzed and the results of the survey, which was conducted on business owners and upper-level managers of small and medium sized textile enterprises in Izmir, Aegean Region, Turkey, are presented. As a result, the study attempts to display the problems that SMEs face in periods of crisis and the measures taken or introduced by them. Keywords: Crisis, SME, Financial Problems.
