Günümüzde küreselleşme ile ortaya çıkan Bölgesel Kalkınma Ajansları küresel rekabetin bir aktörü konumuna gelmişlerdir. Bu yeni süreçte, uygulanan eski teşvik sistemleri terk edilerek, yeni bir yaklaşım benimsenmiştir. Bu benimsenen yeni yaklaşımın temel kurumu Bölgesel Kalkınma Ajansları (BKA)'dır. Bölgesel Kalkınma Ajansları; Bölgesel kalkınmayı gerçekleştirmek üzere rekabetçi ortam yaratan kurumsal yapılardır. BKA'lar ile ilgili kanun, kurumlar arasında işbirliğini geliştirmek, kaynakların yerinde ve etkin kullanımını sağlamak,bölgesel gelişmeyi sağlamak, bölgelerarası farklılıkları azaltmak, bölgenin rekabet gücünü artırmak amacıyla ülkemizde 2006 yılında yürürlüğe girmiştir ve BKA'lar 5449 sayılı Kanun ile yasal zemine kavuşarak kurulmuşlardır. Kalkınma Ajanslarının en önemli rolü bölgeye yatırımcıları teşvik ederek bölgenin kalkınmasını sağlamaktır. TR61 bölgesinde kurulan Batı Akdeniz Kalkınma Ajansı da yatırımların bölgede etkin hale gelmesi için gerekli özeni ve çalışmayı göstermektedir. Bu bağlamda; çalışmanın amacı Bölgesel Kalkınma Ajanslarının bölgesel gelişmeye katkılarını, bölgeye yapılan yatırımların neler olduğunu ve Batı Akdeniz Kalkınma Ajansı'nın (BAKA) yatırımcıları teşvik etmesindeki rolünün neler olduğunu araştırmaktır. In our day, Regional Development Agencies have been an actor of global competition emerged as a result of globalization. In this new process, a recent approach was embraced by leaving the old promotion systems. Basic institution for this new embraced approach is Regional Development Agencies (RCA). Regional Development Agencies are institutional frameworks which create rivalry environment to fulfil regional progress. The regulation for RCA was implemented in 2006 on the purpose of developing the cooperation among institutions, providing the use of resources effectively and appropriately, providing regional development, decreasing the interregional differences and increasing the competition power of the region. RCA.s were founded with the law numbered with 5449 by gaining a legal base.The most significant role of Development Agencies is to provide the development of the region by encouraging the investors for the region. Western Mediterranean Development Agency founded in the region TR61 also Works meticulously so that the investments will become effective in the region. In this context, aim of the study is to research the contributions of the Regional Development Agencies to regional progress, what are the investments applied to the region and what are the roles of the Western Mediterranean Development Agency (WMDA) in promoting the investors.
