Türkiye sanayileşme ve kentleşme sürecinde sosyal ve kültürel değişim içinde olan bir ülkedir. Bu değişimden ilk olarak temel sosyal bir kurum olan aile etkilenmektedir. Hızla gelişen teknoloji ile birlikte toplumsal değişmenin hızında meydana gelen artış,genç kuşaklarla yaşlı kuşaklar arasındaki çatışmayı giderek arttırmıştır. Kuşaklar arası çatışma, özellikle günümüzde yaygın olarak görülen ve yabancı kültürlerin etkisiyle ortaya çıkan sosyolojik bir olgudur. Bu olgu, sadece aile yapılarını şeklen etkilemekle kalmayıp aynı zamanda toplumun değer yargılarının da değiştiğini ifade eden kültürel değişmenin de bir işaretidir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, kültürel değişme sürecinde toplumun çekirdeğini oluşturan aile yapısı içinde birlikte yaşayan genç ve yaşlı kuşaklar arasında meydana gelen çatışmadır. Kuşaklar arası çatışmanın bireysel, sosyal ve kültürel birçok nedeni vardır. Bu araştırmada kültürel değişme açısından kuşaklar arasında yaşanan çatışmanın nedenleri, söz konusu çatışmanın yaşanmaması veya en aza indirilmesi için alınması gereken tedbirlerin neler olduğu alan verileri ile tespit edilerek analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Turkey is a country the transformation ofcultural and social aspects in the process of industrialization. The family, as the fundamental bridgestone of the society is under influence. Together with was developing technology, the increase in the pace of social change has boosted the generations of the young and the old more and more. Generation gap is a socialogical term brought in to being through the effects of foreign culturas and observed widely at the present day.Not only has this being affected the structure of the families, but also changed the valves of the society, which is the very remark of the cultural transformation.The theme of this research is the generation gap between the young and old generations, whichhappens in the bridgestone of the society family in the cycle of cultural change. There are various reasons of the gaps between generations such as individual, social and cultural ones. In the research the motives of the arguments/gaps experienced between generations in interest of cultural change; what the steps to be taken not to allow those gaps to happen and their numbers to be minimized have been detected and attempted tobe analyzed.
