Şiddet olgusu, günümüz toplumlarının en önemli sorunlarından birisidir. Bu nedenle şiddet konusu, pek çok bilim dalının araştırma konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Şiddet geçmişten günümüze kadar varlığını koruyan ve gelecekte de var olmaya devam edeceği tartışılmaz bir gerçektir. Birçok farklı nedeni olmakla birlikte, şiddetin neredeyse bütün yıkıcılığını yaşayan; ancak bir yandan da şiddetin en sürekli kaynağı olan bireyler, şiddetten duydukları rahatsızlığı tekrarlayarak dile getirmelerine rağmen şiddetin faili olmaktan da vazgeçememişlerdir.Şiddet olgusunu konu edinen araştırmamızın temel amacı, Burdur ili Bucak ilçesi merkezindeki ilköğretim okullarının II. Kademe öğrencileri arasında yaşanan şiddet olgusunun incelenmesi ve öğrencilerin şiddet eylemlerinin ortaya çıkmasında demografik ve toplumsal özelliklere bağlı değişkenler açısından farklılıkların bulunup bulunmadığının belirlenmesidir. Bu amaç çerçevesinde Bucak ilçe merkezindeki ilköğretim okullarının II. kademelerindeki örnekleme girecek öğrenci sayıları tabakalı rastlantısal örnekleme yöntemiyle 571 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Örneklemden elde edilen verilerin analizinde SPSS (17.0) kullanılmış; hipotezlerin sınanmasında Ki-Kare Önemlilik testinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin cinsiyetleri, yaşları ve sınıf düzeyleri, ailenin gelir durumu, bilgisayar ortamında oynan oyunlar, boş zamanlarda yapılan faaliyetler, televizyonda izlenen program türleri, karşı cinsten arkadaş durumu ile şiddet eğilimi arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Ayrıca öğrencilerin anne ve babalarının eğitim düzeyi, aile içerisindeki şiddet olgusunun varlığı ile şiddet eğilimi arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamamıştır. The concept of violence is one of the most striking problems of today’s communities.Thus, violence is a research subject for many disciplines. Violence is, undoubtedly, a reality which has existed until today and will also exist in the future. Violence stems from various reasons. Individuals are not only the victims of all destructive sides of violence, yet they are also the consistent reason of it; however, although they are always complaining about their discomfort due to violence, they have never given up resorting to it. The main objective of the study that investigates the concept violence is to examine the violence cases among secondary school students studying at the elementary schools in Bucak County center and determine whether there are differences of the emergence of violence in terms of demographic and social variables. For this purpose, the number of students, who study at the secondary schools in Bucak County centers, has been found to be 571 by random sampling method. SPSS(17.0) has been used in the analysis of the data and chi-square significance test has been applied for testing of hypothesis.According to results, significant relationship is found between the gender, age, classroom levels of students’ , family income, online games played, leisure time activities, preferring program types, friendship status with opposite sex, and tendency to violence.Otherwise, it is not found any significant relationship between educational status of parents, existing cases of violence in family and violence tendency.
