Bu çalışmada, ülkemizde turizm tanıtım çalışmalarının hangi yöntemlerle yapıldığı araştırılmış ve genelden özele inilerek yapılmış olan çalışmalar incelenmiştir. İnceleme sonucu yapılan tanıtım çalışmalarının ne kadar etkili olup olmadığı noktasında destinasyonlara yansıması araştırılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda ülke tanıtım çalışmalarının neredeyse hepsinin devlet desteği ile yapıldığı, beklentinin de bu yönde olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Tanıtım bütçeleri turizmde rakip ülkelerde bilinçli olarak ayrılırken; ülkemizde aşırı esnek davranıldığı fark edilmiştir. Tanıtımda devlet desteğini bilinçli olarak yapan ülkelerin bütçeleri incelenmiş, turizm gelirlerinin Türkiye’den yüksek olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Tanıtım yöre bazında incelendiğinde çalışmaların yok denecek kadar az olduğu görülmüş, var olan çalışmaların da asıl amacının tanıtım odaklı olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bir diğer tespit edilen konu ise turizm sektöründe çalışanların dahi tanıtım bilince sahip olmadığıdır.Yapılan tüm bu çalışmalar ışığında Türkiye tanıtımında gelişmeler kat edildiği tespit edilmiş, fakat tanıtımın birçoğunun devlet eliyle merkezden yapıldığı için bölgesel tanıtımların sahiplenilmediği gözlemlenmiştir. Bölgesel ve hatta il bazında yapılan tanıtımların çok düşük olduğu farkedilmiştir. Tanıtıma ayrılan bütçelerin her yıl arttığı aynı zamanda turizm gelirinin de aynı oranda arttığı tespit edilmiştir. Tanıtımda yapılması gereken konuların başında tanıtıma bilinçli bütçe ayrımı ve tanıtım il koordinasyon birimlerinin kurulması gelmektedir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Destinasyon, İmaj, Marka, Turizm.
The study has tried to find out which methods work in tourism promotion and looked into the studies beginning from general to specific. It has been studied whether the promotional activities are effective or not and to what extend they are effective and their reflection in the destinations.In this study, it has been determined that almost all of the promotional activities are made with the support of the government, and the expectation is in this direction. It has been noticed that in the competing countries the budgets to tourism promotion are allocated knowingly but in our country it is done in an extremely flexible way.In this study the budgets of the countries which support the promotional activities consciously have been analyzed, and it is seen that their tourism revenues are higher than Turkey’s tourism income.When the promotion activities are analyzed on the basis of the region, it is found out that the activities are little or no, and that the main purpose of the existing activities are not focused on promotion. Another issue identified in this study is that even workers in the tourism sector do not have this awareness.As a result of all these studies, it has been determined that there are improvements in the promotion of Turkey, and that regional promotional activities are not supported adequately by central government because many of promotional activities of the country are organized from the center by the state. Promotional activities in regions and even in provinces have been noticed to be very inadequate. It has been detected that the annual increase in income from tourism is at the same rate as parallel to annual increase in the budget allocated to promotional activities. As a result, it is understood that the promotional budget should be allocated knowingly and the provincial coordination units for promotional activities should be established to make promotional activities better.
