Bu çalışmada Sağlık Bakanlığı il merkezi hastanelerinin işletme sermayeleri ile finansal performans göstergeleri analiz edilerek, işletme sermayesi ile finansal performans arasında bir ilişki olup olmadığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Araştırmanın evrenini Sağlık Bakanlığı il merkezindeki döner sermaye işletmesi bulunan hastanelerinin 2008-2012 yıllarına ait bilanço ve gelir tabloları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada örnek çekilmemiş, verilerine ulaşılan 118 hastane araştırma kapsamına alınmıştır. Hastanelerin genel finansal durumlarını belirlemek için oran analizi yapılmıştır. Daha sonra hastanelerin finansal performans ve işletme sermayeyi durumu ortaya koyulmuş ve son olarak da işletme sermayesi ve finansal performans arasındaki ilişkinin tespit edilmesi için ki-kare bağımsızlık testi kullanılmıştır.Analizler sonucunda hastanelerin genel finansal durumlarının kötü olduğu belirlenmiş, sorun yaşanılan konularda öneriler geliştirilmiştir. Ayrıca araştırma kapsamındaki yılarda hastanelerin işletme sermayesi yönetimi ile finansal performansları arasında bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. In this study, it is aimed to determine whether there is a relationship between the working capital and the financial performance by analyzing the working capitals and financial performance indicators of city center hospitals of the Ministry of Health.The population of the research constitutes the balance sheets and income statements of the Ministry of Health hospitals for the years of 2008-2012, which have circulating capitals in city centers. In the study, no sample is selected; however the data of 118 hospitals are included. The ratio analysis is conducted in order to determine the general financial situation of the hospitals. Then the financial performance of the hospitals and working capital situation are revealed; and finally the chi-square test of independence was used to determine the relationship between business capital and financial performance.According to the analyses, it is revealed that the overall financial situation of the hospitals is not good; thus some recommendations have been developed in the problematic areas based on these analyses. In addition, a relationship has been identified between the working capital management and financial performance of the hospitals in the years that covered in this study.
