Unemployment remaining on the agenda is one of the most important issues of our country. In case of organizing factors affecting unemployment; education, gender, age, investments and geographical situation of that country are varieties affecting unemployment. Policies, increasing unemployment, being applied, must be considered in frame of those varieties. Another issue that unemployment has psychological results in terms of individual and have social results in terms of sociology.Main aim of the study; psychological affects of unemployment on individuals and affects reflected in terms of this situation have been observed. Study is composed of four parts. Unemployment description and importance of it, unemployment in our country and in the World, types of unemployment, reasons of unemployment, observations of unemployment in terms of those varieties have been observed in the first section. Affects of unemployment on individual and society has been observed in the second section. Informations about Usak province has been observed in the third section. Geographical situation, natural sources and economical structure, employment structure of province has been observed in this section. On the last fourth section, a survey has been done over fourhundred unemployment people registered at ISKUR in Usak province for researching psychological affects of unemployment. Results supporting thesis of the research in survey has been gathered. Data gathered by survey have been reflected through analyzing through diagrams with SPSS programme. It has been observed that unemployment causes serious problems in terms of individual and social conditions. Bir ülkede işsizliği etkileyen faktörler sıralanacak olursa; eğitim, cinsiyet, yaş, yatırımlar ve o ülkenin coğrafi konumu işsizliği etkileyen değişkenlerdir. İşsizliği azaltıcı politikalar uygulanırken bu değişkenler çerçevesinde ele alınmalıdır. Bir diğer konu ise, işsizliğin bireysel bağlamda psikolojik toplumsal bağlamda ise sosyolojik sonuçları bulunmaktadır.Bu çalışmanın asıl amacı; işsizliğin işsizler üzerinde bıraktığı psikolojik etkiler ve bu bağlamda topluma yansıttığı etkiler incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla gerçekleştirilen çalışma dört bölümden oluşmuştur. İlk bölümde işsizlik tanımı ve önemi, dünyada işsizlik, ülkemizde işsizlik, işsizlik türleri, işsizlik nedenleri ve sonuçları, belirli değişkenler etrafında işsizliğin incelenmesi konularına değinilmiştir. İkinci bölümde işsizliğin birey ve toplum üzerinde bıraktığı etkilerden bahsedilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ise, Uşak iline ilişkin bilgilere yer verilmiştir. Bu bölümde öncelikli olarak ilin coğrafi konumu, doğal kaynakları ve daha sonra ekonomik yapısı ve istihdam yapısı incelenmiştir. Son olarak dördüncü bölümde ise, işsizliğin psiko-sosyolojik etkilerini araştırmak üzere Uşak ilinde İŞKUR'a kayıtlı dörtyüz işsiz üzerinde bir anket uygulanmıştır. Anket çalışmasında araştırmanın varsayımını destekler nitelikte sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Ankette elde edilen veriler analiz edilerek SPSS programı üzerinden tablolara yansıtılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın sonucunda işsizliğin bireysel ve toplumsal açıdan ciddi problemlere neden olduğu gözlemlenmiştir.
