Ülkemizde 1950'li yıllarda başlayan hızlı kentleşme sürecinin temel unsuru olarak belirtebileceğimiz sanayileşmenin belki de en belirgin sonucu göç ve kentleşme özelinde meydana getirdiği hareketlenmelerdir. Öyle ki, sanayileşme ile birlikte hız kazanan iç göçlerin özellikle 1980'den sonra ülke içinde hızla artış göstermesi, önemli oranda bir nüfusun kentsel alanlara yığılmasının en önemli nedeni olmuştur. Kırsal alanların itici, kentlerin ise çekici faktörleri de bu yığılmanın bir başka nedenidir.Bu araştırma Seyhan ilçesi örnekleminde Adana'da kentleşme ve göçün sosyolojik anlamını konu edinmektedir. Bu kapsamda araştırmanın genelinde; özelikle ülkemizde 1980'lerden sonra hız kazanan göç hareketlerinin neden olduğu toplumsal değişim ve dönüşümlerin nasıl bir kentleşmeye yol açtığı ve toplumsal alanı nasıl dönüştürdüğü analiz edilmektedir.İnsanlar ve kentler noktasından hareketle çalışmanın genelinde; bireylerin göç sonrası tutum, davranış ve sosyo-ekonomik durumlarında meydana gelen değişimlerinin sosyal yapıya olan etkileri ele alınırken bu etkilerin nasıl bir kentleşme yarattığı da analiz edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, göç hareketlerinin kentleşmenin niteliğine, boyutuna ve hızına olan etkileri de yine bu çerçevede ele alınmaktadır. Yine araştırma kapsamında insanlık tarihiyle birlikte varolan ve bireyselden toplumsala geniş bir yelpazede önemli etkiler yaratan göç olgusunun kentleşme ile olan ilişkisi üzerinden toplumsal yapı ve sosyal değişim analizi yapılmaktır. The most apparent result of industrialisation that can be considered the major factor in the rapid urbanisation process started in 1950s in our country is probably the dynamism it created specifically in migration and urbanisation. Thus, gaining speed with industrialisation, internal migration has shown a rapid increase especially after 1980s and therefore has been the most significant reason for the clumping of considerable numbers of population into urban areas. The push factors of rural areas along with the pull factors of urban areas have been other reasons for this clumping.This research is based on the sociological meaning of urbanisation and migration in the case of Seyhan district in Adana. In this respect, the sociological changes and transformations arose from the migration movements that gained speed after 1980s in our country have been analysed throughout the study so as to examine the resulting urbanisation and how they have transformed the social sphere.Taking into account people and cities, the effects of the changes that occur in the individuals' attitude, behaviour and socio-economical states after migration on the social structure have been analysed all through the study along with the consequent urbanisation they have created. Besides, the effects of migration movements on the quality, the magnitude and the speed of urbanisation have been scrutinised within this framework. The study also includes the analysis of social structure and social change with regard to the relation between urbanisation and the migration phenomenon that has created significant effects in a wide scope individually and socially dating back to human history.
