İngiltere'de Sanayi Devrimi ile başlayan sanayileşmeden sonra dünya ekonomisi hızlı bir gelişme sürecine girmiştir. Büyümenin ve kalkınmanın motoru olarak görülen bu olgu özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkeler için ulaşılması gereken bir hedef olmuştur. Son yüzyılda özellikle Avrupa ve Uzakdoğu ülkeleri bu konuda ciddi bir ilerleme kaydetmiştir.Türkiye için ise bu süreç, Cumhuriyetin kurulmasıyla başladı denilebilir. Cumhuriyetin kuruluşundan 80'lere kadar ithal ikameci sanayileşme stratejileri uygulanmıştır. Bu strateji, planlı dönem öncesi ve sonrası farklılıklar gösterse de genel olarak değişmemiştir. 1980 sonrasında ise ihracata dayalı sanayileşme stratejisi uygulanmıştır.Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye ekonomisi için 1998(Q1)-2015(Q1) dönemine ilişkin imalat sanayi ihracatı, aramalı ithalatı ve büyüme arasındaki ilişkileri ortaya koymaktır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda yapılan nedensellik analizinde büyümeden imalat sanayi ihracatına tek yönlü bir nedensellik bulunmuştur. After the Industrialization, started with the Industrial Revolution in the UK, the world economy has entered a rapid development process. This phenomenon is accepted as an engine of growth and development, which is a goal to be achieved, especially for developing countries. In the last century the countries have made significant progress in this regard particularly in Europe and the Far East.For Turkey, this process started with the establishment of the Republic. Import substitution industrialization strategies were carried out from the establishment of the Republic till 80’s. This strategy in general has not changed, although it has some differences before the planned period and after the planned period. After 1980, the export-based industrialization strategy was carried out. The aim of this study to reveal the relationship among export of manufacturing, import of intermediate goods and growth over the period 1998(Q1)-2015(Q1). In this context, the empirical results reveal that there is unidirectional causality run from growth to export of manufacturing. In addition, there is bidirectional causality relation between export of manufacturing, and import of intermediate goods.
