Bu araştırmanın amacı, korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocukların din eğitimi ve manevî bakım hizmetine yönelik ihtiyaçlarını tespit etmektir. Tarama modelinde ve nicel yöntemle yapılan bu araştırmanın hedef evrenini, Balıkesir, Çanakkale ve Aydın, illerindeki Aile ve Sosyal Politikalar Bakanlığına bağlı Aile ve Sosyal Politikalar İl Müdürlüğü kurumlarında bulunan 404 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen Din Eğitimi ve Manevî Bakım Hizmetleri ölçeği ile toplanmıştır.Araştırmada korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocuklara ilişkin demografik özellikler, frekans ve yüzde analizi ile incelenmiştir. Korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocukların din eğitimi ve manevî bakım hizmetlerinin boyutlarına ve bu boyutları oluşturan maddelere ilişkin düzeyleri, ortalama ve standart sapma ile saptanmıştır.Korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocukların yaşlarının ve eğitim düzeylerinin din eğitimi ve manevî bakım hizmetleri üzerindeki etkileri Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (ANOVA) ile cinsiyetlerinin ve kaldıkları yerlerin etkileri ise t-testi ile incelenmiştir. Gruplar arasında anlamlı etkileşimlerin kaynağının tespiti için Post - Hoc yöntemlerinden Scheffe testi uygulanmıştır.Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre; çocuklar en çok arkadaşları ile gezerek, oynayarak ve eğlenerek serbest zamanlarını geçirmektedir. Çocukların TV'de en çok hoşlandıkları program türünün müzik-eğlence programları-filmler olduğu, en sevmedikleri program türünün ise belgeseller olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca dinî, manevî ve ahlakî programların da çok az tercih edilmektedir. Korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocuklar, İslam dini ve inanç konularını öğrenmeye ihtiyaç duymaktadırlar.Korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocukların cinsiyete göre din eğitimi ve manevî bakım hizmetinin İslam dini ve inanç boyutlarına yönelik görüşleri arasında anlamlı farklılık tespit edilmemiştir. Korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocukların kalınan yer, yaş ve eğitim düzeylerine göre din eğitimi ve manevî bakım hizmetinin inanç boyutuna yönelik görüşleri arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunmazken, İslam dini boyutu açısından anlamlı farklılık elde edilmiştir. Bu farklılık incelendiğinde ise sırasıyla kalınan yer açısından yetiştirme yurdunda kalan öğrencilerin sevgi evlerinde kalan öğrencilere göre İslam dinine yönelik tutumlarının daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Yaşa göre bakıldığında da çocukların yaşı arttıkça İslam dinine yönelik tutumlarının düştüğü görülmektedir.Eğitim düzeyine göre değerlendirildiğinde de çocukların eğitim düzeyi arttıkça İslam dinine yönelik eğilimleri de artmaktadır. Korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocukların, günah (suç) sayılacak bir davranışta bulunduktan sonraki davranışları olumlu yönde olmaktadır. Çocukları, günah (suç) sayılacak bir davranışı gerçekleştirmeyi düşünüp de o davranışı yapma fikrinden vazgeçiren etken Allah inancı, ahiret inancı ve vicdani rahatsızlıktır. Korunmaya ve bakıma muhtaç çocukların, Arapça Kur'an-ı Kerim okumayı bilme ve Türkçe açıklamasını okuma düzeyleri yeterli değildir. Çocuklar, Kur’an-ı Kerim'i okumayı cami ve Kuran kursları öğreticilerinden öğrenmişlerdir.Çocuklar, dinî danışmanlık ve rehberlik amaçlı din eğitimi hizmetlerine ihtiyaç duymaktadırlar. The aim of the current study is to determine the religious education and spiritual care needs of children who need protection and care. The target population of this quantitative survey research study is comprised of 404 students in Balıkesir, Çanakkale and Aydın Family and Social Services Provincial Directorate institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Family and Social Policies. The data were collected through the “Religious Education and Spiritual Care Services Scale” developed by the researcher.Demographic characteristics of the children in the study were examined via frequency and percentage analysis. The level of children with respect to the dimensions of Religious Education and Spiritual Care Services and the items in these dimensions was determined through mean and standard deviation. The effect the age and education level of children on Religious Education and Spiritual Care Services was examined through One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), while the effect of gender and the place children stay in was determined via t-test. A post hoc Scheffe test was employed to determine the source of the significant interaction among the groups.The results revealed that the children in the study spend their free time going out with friends, playing games, and having fun. It was found that their favorite programmes on TV are music-entertainment programs and films, while the TV programme type they like the least is documentaries. It was also found that children in the study generally do not prefer TV programmes with religious, spiritual and moral content. It seems that the children in need of protection and care need to learn more about worship and religion. A significant gender difference was found with respect to children’s views on the Islam and religion dimensions of the Religious Education and Spiritual Care Services scale. While there is no significant difference in views of children on the religion dimension of the scale with respect to the place they stay in, age and the level of education, this difference is significant as far as worship dimension is concerned. When this difference is examined more closely, it is seen that the children who stay in orphanages have more tendency to worship compared to those who stay in Affection Homes. When examined in terms of age, it is seen that as children grow older, their tendency to worship decreases. As far as the level of education is concerned, it is revealed that as the level of education increases, the tendency to worship is reinforced as well. The findings also revealed that after the children in need of protection and care show a behavior that could be considered a sin (offense), they exhibit positive behaviors. What deters these children from committing an act that could be considered a sin (offense) is the belief in God and after-life, and their wish to have a clear conscience. Children in need of protection and care do not know how to read the Quran in Arabic, and they do not read the Turkish translation of the Quran much. Those who know how to read the Quran received this knowledge from the instructors in mosques and Quran courses. The children in need of protection and care need religious consultancy and guidance through religious education services. Bu farklılık incelendiğinde ise sırasıyla kalınan yer açısından yetiştirme yurdunda kalan öğrencilerin sevgi evlerinde kalan öğrencilere göre İslam dinine yönelik tutumlarının daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Yaşa göre bakıldığında da çocukların yaşı arttıkça İslam dinine yönelik tutumlarının düştüğü görülmektedir.Eğitim düzeyine göre değerlendirildiğinde de çocukların eğitim düzeyi arttıkça İslam dinine yönelik eğilimleri de artmaktadır.
